Complaint Review: Interstate Gutter Cleaning//ProTekTiv Pest Control

I found Interstate Gutter Cleaning via CraigsList and did work for them in April and May of 2008. I started setting appointments and received $10 per appointment set. I also received commission off any sales from my appointments.

Everything went well for a couple weeks but things then went down hill. I was doing so good that John was going to train me on Sales so I good do the selling part and make more money.

The week I was supposed to start training for Sales, John's mother passed away and he had to leave town for a week. I was told to continue just setting appointments.

By the end of that week I still had not received my money owed to me from the previous week. I emailed Bill and it took some time for him to respond. He told me he was trying to contact John about it. Days went by and he was not returning emails or phone calls to me.

Finally I received an answer from Bill through a email more then 2 weeks later.
They were trying to tell me that the money they said they owed me in a documented paycard was now being changed. I will show you the time cards....

This is the confirmation email I received from John regarding my pay.

A few days later I still had not received my money and now they owed me $30 more for 3 more appointments I set plus they now owed me a $250 hiring bonus I had earned. The following is the email i sent them regarding this.

I will be forwarding a copy of last weeks paycard that John emailed to me. Could a new paycheck be mailed to me along with my current check........Thank You.

I have been out of town this last week and this is the first chance I had to update your final pay card. John asked me to go thru and update them to get an accounting of where we are. Anytime anyone doesnt finish the full 30day commitment then we readjusted the final pay card to show any differences. That has what has taken some extra time to put together.


1st Week worked 25 leads turned in 23 verified

2nd Week worked 13 leads turned in 12 verified

3rd Week worked 35 leads turned in 29 verified

4th Week worked 4 leads turned in 3 verified


As far extra bonuses, in order to you to qualify for the 250.00 hiring bonus you would have to have worked 4 weeks straight and set a minimum of 15 leads a week. The second week you missed that and told John because of computer problems. He then agreed to reset the hiring bonus and start over with it on the 3rd week and start the 4weeks over. You worked 1 week and 1 day and that was all. So either way you didn't meet the baseline set down for the 250.00 hiring bonuses. Also when someone starts and stops working within the first 30days we can cancel any extra or weekly bonuses that apply. The weekly and extra bonuses are setup to motivate someone to work the full 30days, not a one-week on and one week off or a day or two here.


I have adjusted your final pay card as follows.

In that email they lied many times which I have emails where they have contradicted themselves. They also started making up all these rules and guidelines regarding bonuses and my hiring bonus......these so called rules are not documented anywhere and had never been mentioned previous to this.

I never received the money from this so called altered paycard either.
On May 22nd 2008 I sent them the following email.............

I am owed the $592.35 listed below, I am owed $30 week ending 4/26/08, and I am owed my $250 hiring bonus! TOTAL OF $872.35....I WANT MY MONEY!!

You have given me numerous excuses, I have caught you in many lies which I can prove through documented emails........I have every single email correspondence between myself and your company......i can show the number of times I have emailed you and all's you do is IGNORE me. Regarding my hiring bonus and what you told me in a recent email Bill that John had made an agreement with me on how it was going to work.....YOU LIED and I have an email from John showing exactly what the agreement was! also you tell me in a paycard that you email to me how many of my leads were verified and then two weeks later you change that verified number to something else.........UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

my next step is this.......if i don't have a check in my mailbox from you in the amount of $872.35 which is owed to me by Saturday 5/24/08.......I am going to be contacting all the local tv news stations in Vancouver, WA......Portland, OR.....& Seattle, OR and let them know what is going on. I am fed up!!!!! This is not blackmail and this is not harassment....THIS IS ME TRYING TO COLLECT MY MONEY OWED TO ME PER CONTRACT BETWEEN US.

I am sure these news stations would be interested in hearing my story considering you advertised this position on craigs list which has numerous scammers on it, considering I have emails to back up everything I am saying about your company and how I have been lied to and also not receiving money that is owed to me, and considering most of all.....you would be a local company in that area that provides services to the general public.......so i am positive they would be interested in hearing about a company that is ripping off people and lying that is based in their own area.

Since this email I have called and emailed numerous times and have not gotten a response from either John or Bill.

I apologise for the length of this report but I wanted to give as much info I could. These people need to be stopped or others will be taken advantage of.
I have saved all my emails I sent to them and saved all the emails I received from them. By doing this I can show proof of how they lied and cheated me. I would advise any others who went through this with Interstate Gutter Cleaning to also save all emails as proof.

How can we stop them and make them pay the money they have taken from us?????
