In 6/06 I was contacted by John Jackson from Interval Realty to market our Sheraton Vistana timeshare.I was told that the typical sale of this property was 3-4 months ,since they had such a large base to market to.They claimed to promote "weekly listings to travel agents, tour groups, convention coordinators, large corporations, professional sports teams, entertainment companies..."
In 14 months, I have not received 1 call about my property. In contrast I have placed several calls to Interval Realty. I often needed to speak to different representatives because the previous one "left". I was reassured the property was being fully marketted, but not sold due to a slow market.
I was also promised a "free" weekend to a resort of my chosing, if the property didn't sell in 6 months. This was a LIE. I eventually discovered I could request a city after a deposit was submitted, and not guaranteed to get it.
After filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, I was finally contacted by Interval. I was told that they did indeed market my property and would continue to do so.When I asked for documentation of this they never provided any. As of today, my property is not listedon their web site.
DO NOT USE INTERVAL! They will steal your money and provide nothing in return!

Slow Market Indeed

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Thu, September 06, 2007

Maria,

I was the one who initially responded to the BBB complaint initiated by you. I explained in detail that yes, the market is indeed very slow. We have spoken to you on many occasions in regards to your property and yes, the answer is still the same, there has been no movement on it! I wish that I had better news and a better answer for you but I agree with you, the property should have been taken care of! Its not the fault of a company like ours that your property hasn't moved, how can you really get angry at a for sale by owner company if no one wants your property?

I understand that it can be frustrating paying fees for something that you don't necessarily have the ability to take advantage of but we have been marketing and advertising pursuant to the contractual terms specified in the initial agreement.

As far as the vacation package in which you called a "lie"; You do in fact pay a REFUNDABLE registration for the package, the refund is processed as soon as you check in to ensure that your going to show up! And yes, just like any hotel, travel is based upon availability of the hotel, not necessarily your travel plans so they give you the option of picking a couple of different locations and timeframes to choose.

Last but not least; your property has been marketed via the website since the inception, since day 1, before you even returned your contract. This was also explained to you via telephone, email as well as through the BBB. We are working diligently to procure potential renters/buyers for the property but please pay attention to what's going in the real estate world as a whole.

How can you really be angry with our company when you bought the property with the intention of an investment? We will continue to market, advertise and promote the property and hopefully in short order an interest will be procured. Please be patient with us,

Regards,

Adam Wroblewski
