Complaint Review: Intlmove

I hired Intlmove to load and move a 20' container of our household goods from FL to the UK. Before they arrived I called and got advice on how to pack certain items. When they arrived they repacked some items as the man on site had different standards than those of the people in the office.

I got a bill for $260 the next day for the extra packing though there were only cu ft estimates listed next to the amounts. I questioned both the cost and the cubic footage as $260 for less than 30 minutes effort and 3 boxes and some wrap seemed excessive. I sent emails and faxed letters to their operations, accounts and president David Etzion asking for clarification. They would not provide details.

But 2 days later they said pay within 48 hours or face a $300 admin charge and having your move put on hold. I again asked for clarification but only got a rude and aggressive email demanding payment in return.

Despite my better judgment I sent them a cheque for the $260 the next day and I wrote and told them this. The day after I got a bill for the additional $300.

This appears to be a never ending process as since my move is on hold I will have to pay storage and other admin charges before getting my property back.

I would strongly advise against using Intlmove.
