Have created a website in protest to the way Intown operates.

I never have been to an establishment that does not allow you to video tape or Video record the hotel premises. Last Thursday July 8, 2004 I checked into the Intown suites Extended stay hotel located at 2420 East Dublin-Granville Road located in Columbus Ohio. I have previously stayed at many Intown locations and knew the policies. But never did it specify anything about "have a video camera or Picture Camera" not allowed being on the hotels property.

When I checked in on July 8, 2004 I found our room had some minor problems. The Toilet was not working correctly (Was making noise), one of the light bulbs at the top of the bed was missing. I was really upset about this and went to the front desk manager Brian who said We can't do anything about it now; you will just have to wait till tomorrow.

On Friday July 9, 2004 at approximately 4:00pm I went to the front desk saying the problems were not fixed and I was really upset. Brian then told me You're going to have to wait because they no longer had a maintenance person on property he was released from his job. I replied n a joking way This Hotel su*** without ANY GUESTS there. He then took a hissy fit and said get out of my front office, and really spazed out.

A little while later I asked if I could have the network adapter for my computer to connect to the internet he said it would be $80.00. The District manager charged put a "Hold my credit card in the amount of $80.00" for a deposit and said it would be refunded to me upon returning the equipment.

Today 7/13/2004 I was walking down the front hall of the Intown suites and had my new digital camera on me. I however was playing with it but did NOT take any pictures of any thing and if I did it was immediately erased. A little while after returning to my room I received a LOUD Knock at the door and it was the manager he said You better get the F*** off my property NOW, pack all your sh** up and leave he then said Leave now and you Can't take your property and when you come back I will charge you.

I then Said I wanted my Refund of $80.00 for my Network Card I put a deposit on (According to Intown it was just an authorization and once it was returned it would fall off) but he said Give me it now or I am calling the police, and I Am not giving you a refund because I am throwing you off the property. A little while after everything was packed up and went to the front for My refund he said on the phone to someone let me call you back I have to throw this fatso off my property
and made a big stink infront of everyone. The Manager also said some nasty words and then he physically pushed me out the front door and said we don't like f**** fa*****

To make a long story short I believe we should have never received this treatment.

Your manager should have never made the comments about my sexual preference like he did, he had no right trying to hold mine or my roommates property like he did and also HE had NO RIGHT NOT REFUNDING ME MY $20.00 ROOM DEPOSIT AND MY $80.00 NETWORK ADAPTER CHARGE. THE MERCHANDISE WAS RETURNED.

I am REALLY upset to a point where I will NEVER Recommend or stay at ANY Intown facilities again. I think I deserve my refund and possibly some room rent back. There is NO Law especially In your policy that states you can't take pictures in a hotel environment.

Before this situation occurred I was speaking to one of the housekeepers And she said what she thought about her job and stuff - which was not exactly nice. I told her when I checked out I wanted to tell her something but would be afraid if I told her upfront I would be removed from the property. I wanted to tell Her I registered my website in case I would have a problem getting my refund back even though I know I should because I did not do anything wrong.

Update: 7//14/2004 8:00pm EST

I have left phone messages for the district manager of the intown suites for Pennsylvania and Ohio but she has failed to return my phone calls. I made several calls to the Intown Corporate HQ located in Atlanta, GA And was first told by the receptionist the Manager had permission to remove me from the Hotel premises for taking pictures. I asked to speak with someone and left 5 messages and never once have they returned my calls.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome!
