I agree with all of you about Intoxalock!  Nothing but trouble and convenient lockouts for no apparent reason.  They try to charge outrageous unneccesary fees and now I am being told I have to keep it an additional two months because the date on the Interlock license is Nov. 5.  I had it installed last Sept because I had to have hip replacement surgery and wanted to get it in but didn't go for the license until I was able to actually heal enough to drive.  Noone ever said anything about the time starting on the date of the license.  What kind of sense does that make??  So, if I did the opposite, I could have had it out two months EARLY?  I highly doubt that!  I have filed TWO BBB complaints and just had another lockout after filing this last one!  I PRAY someone can start a class action suit because I definitely want to be part of it! Shady business practices, customer service sucks, you always have to so to a supervisor an this last time I requested email correspondence because I am out of town for family emergency and my phone is acting up and I have heard absolutely nothing!  AND they charged my card without my approval and then said they wouldn't send the new unit until I paid $170!  I feel like that is a type of blackmail!  If I didn't pay it, no unit, car won't start, can't get to work wth?

First of all you do not know anything about the situation of why I have an Interlock, so your opinion means nothing. Second of all, the point is their shady business practices, of which I am apparently not the only victim. You're an advocate against DUI that is wonderful but has no relevance to the actual topic at hand. Oh and my hip replacement was due to arthritis but thank you for your concern. Lol. Argue all you want I won't respond again. To reiterate, your post had nothing to do with being ripped off, have a nice day! Lol. Good bye!

Unless you for some reason just on a whim decided to install this device on your car, there is really only 1 reason it is there.  That is because you are a CONVICTED DRUNK DRIVER.  Now, yes we could play word games all day long and you could come here and say "Well I never pled guilty", or "I was never 'convicted'" But the fact remains that you have this device on your car because the court ordered it, and the court ordered it because you were charged with drunk driving and agreed to this as part of what ever agreement you came to with the courts.

I really only hope that your Hip Replacement Surgery wasn't a result of your drunk driving, but if it was I am actually glad it was you and not some innocent person just minding their own business.  Where your prayers would be that you didn't actually KILL them.

As for the time limit, the "sense" it makes is what the court ordered you to have.  If the court ordered it to be tied to your license they are just following the law.   If the court didn't order it, then get the court to have it removed sooner.

Oh and if you haven't figured it out, no I have no sympathy for anyone who drinks and drives and quite frankly if you were never allowed to drive again it wouldn't be too soon for me.  But since the courts have allowed you to have this privlege back you better be very thankful and accept what ever "inconvienience" you may have.
