I purchsed on Amazon the TurboTax Deluxe with free state e-file software.  There is a software glitch for Kentucky state tax filers. At the very end of the error check, an error message displays that the state return must be filed by paper, because I an EIN or SSN for the "Childcare Provider" was not provided. I completed an individual return. There are no dependents.

I did an online search to find if anyone else has had the same problem. Multiple people posted that they have had the same problem. One person reported that "Intuit is working on the problem."

I contacted Intuit's customer service. The representative indicated that other people have complained about this problem. She knew about the problem before I even went into a full explanation. There does not appear to be any resolution for purchasers. Software companies do not permit refunds for their software purchased on Amazon.  It does not appear that Intuit is providing a refund either.

In addition to all the extra time spent on trying to get the state efile to go through, for the first time in a lot of years, I am having to filie a paper return, even though a paid for software that was supposed to include a free state efile.
