Direct Buy Biggest Scam Do NOT Join Chesterfield Missouri

Direct Buy is a scam. The lie they sell is that by joining their Club for almost $5000, you will be given the opporunity to buy products at manufacturer direct pricing. This is not true. While there may be items that you can save on, they will be very high end products that most people couldn't afford anyway. My wife and I purchased a membership as we began remodeling our home. As I began to price out items such as doors and windows I found that the prices seemed a little high. I decided to began shopping those items around and discovered that I could save money on identical items outside of Direct Buy. Furthermore, on almost all the items I was shopping I was left to deal with a supplier, not Direct Buy. As I returned to Direct Buy they marked up the quote that I had received from the supplier for shipping and handeling. In reality I would be picking the items up directly from the supplier so there would be no shipping or handeling, as this was verified by the supplier. I filed a complaint with the BBB and was told that if I could provide written proof I would be given a refund and my membership would be cancelled. I did just that and Direct Buy still refuses to honor my request and their aggreement. I am now done with my house and did it all saving thousands on my own without Direct Buy. Meanwhile I continue to fight to get my money back from this scam.

Your followup is rather vague.

We looked at Direct Buy c1977 and they wanted $1600 then. It felt like a bad deal because the numbers and the hurry-up-now-or-never routine did not make any sense to us, so we never joined. The price does seem to always be going up. The last time I read a Direct Buy complaint (last year) the price was $4000.

After filing this report with this website and the BBB I was able to get my issues resolved with this company in a satisfactory manner. Direct Buy is a company that may not work for some people. Do your research to find out if it is a good fit for you.
