Ipa Advisory & Intermediary Services RIPOFF jerkoff company tactics are exactly as posted, stay away Buffalo Grove Illinois

Our
We scheduled a preliminary meeting with their "front person" who appeared quite professional and pleasant but didn't seem to have any definative answers about what her company could provide given our needs. She did however recommend that we have an "advisor" pay us a visit which would entail a 700 dollar fee for a one day evaluation of our companies position and viability in seeking the venture/angel funding we were seeking. We agreed and about a week later the advisor arrived. immediately upon meeting this scrawny bag of bones guy, I was concerned as to what kind of company would send out people to represent them who looked as shabby as this guy. he started the meeting by telling us how wonderful ipa was and that ipa had helped numerous companies in the area grow and succeed. He informed us of his extensive education and experience level then proceeded to try some sort of psyhcological game by relating his family history, basketball prowess, life his family in utah yadayadayada......

It was clear to me that this guy was a fraud even before he launched into the ipa program solutions of fees for this, advisors for that, financial experts to review this etc....

So I asked him for the references of the southern california companies ipa had helped. He became flustered and said they were on the company website. I asked if since he supposedly had personally assisted these companies via his ipa employment, then why could he not just tell me who I could contact as a reference. Things went downhill from there though we adjourned the meeting for lunch after the bag of bones (hereinafter "bob") made an emergency call to the "panel of financial experts / analysts" waiting back in chicago for his progress report.

During lunch I decided to run a google on ipa and sure enough... not much good to say about them. I printed out the inc magazine report about ipa's shady practices and personnel.

I notified the 2 other company representatives (our ceo and cfo) of my findings. W decided to have some fun with him for a few minutes and run him out of our offices. Bth the ceo and cfo agreed that we would not even pay the 700 dollars as "bob" and his company had already wasted 2 hours of our time.

Atually the rest of the day was quite enjoyable. Bob returned after lunch and after seating ourselves I again asked for ipa's references. "Bob" reiterated ipa's stellar reputation and that because of confidentiality agreements he could not give out those contacts....how could we as this little company be questioning "bob" and ipa? I informed "bob" that we had certain concerns based on some review of information on the web. I gave him a copy of the inc magazine report and asked for his comments. "Bob" became agitated and asked why we asked him to come since we as a company obviously were too naive to run a sucessful business. "Bob" actually muttered something like maybe he was wasting his time on idiots and again called his handlers back in chicago. When he got off the phone I informed that I as a former police officer had knowledge of scam operations like ipa and that both the ceo and cfo were both corporate lawyers and were in fact not idiots. I then told him he was to leave immediately. He said he needed to get the 700 dollars and that our business would fail. I asked him how he knew that our company would fail as he knew virtually nothing yet about our company. Then told him we were paying exactly zero dollars to him or ipa. He called chicago again and again said he needed to collect the 700 dollars to cover his airfare /expenses and that ipa would sue us. I told him that he had met our lawyers and good luck to ipa persuing that avenue....I also mentioned that if he needed to collect money for airfare back to utah he instead should start walking while the sun was up as we weren't giving him anything. Our cfo pointed out that ipa would have to come to california small claims court to do this and that we would countersue alledging fraud and misrepresentation on the part of ipa. He stormed out of our office while babbling on his cell.

Sure enough he returned a half hour later asking to talk to our ceo at which time I informed him that he ought to leave and that I would have him arrested for trespassing should he return again. He said "your company will fail for sure" and i responded that we have failed to be ripped off by his company.

Pretty much the end except someone from ipa called yesterday and again today sounding as though everything is peachy. I told him don't bother us again and hopefully this will be the conclusion. Not sure though as this company is probably like rust....just keeps coming back no matter how hard you sand.
