On Nov 16, 2000 I ordered a pair of "Free" Spirit Jeans for $10.95. I was immediately charged the $10.95. I received a postcard saying they were backordered until March 2001. I waited and checked the website often and they say thanks for waiting so long, we will send a free gift too. And I wait. On Sept 4 2001 I requested a refund and I wait. Today I e-mailed for status and again I will wait. I guess I just do not understand that I ordered invisible jeans. RIP OFF!! Glad it was only $10.95. Could have been a lot worse.

I guess they are used to being Rip-off artists, their web site no longer gives a mailing address due to "Anthrax Concerns". Go figure.

I have a feeling this 'promotion' backfired terribly.

Their relationship to the company: Consumer Suggestion

Rebuttal:
The form letter-type of posting you make does no good for those of us who have been waiting over 1 1/2 YEARS for our jeans. You claim that it was a promotion ... however, if one must wait over a full year to receive merchandise, I have a feeling this 'promotion' backfired terribly.

Now, your website states we must wait another three to four MONTHS for our refunds. Wow, it didn't take less than 24 hours to take money out of my account, why does it take 4 months to put it back in?

And this business of Anthrax concern? That is just downright bull ... We have to receive a refund by MAIL only, why should WE accept mail if the Anthrax scare is such a concern? I mean, you want your employees to remain safe, but not your customers? I don't get it. You boast that you are proud Americans, by the numerous flags and bragging about contributing to causes, but you cower down to the smallest concern. Way to go, Proud
Americans.

I am almost glad I lost my $10.95 ... that was a small price to pay to realize that your company is one I will never do business with on a longterm basis. I am sure others will agree.

We have had some manufacturing delays in the past which has caused free jean orders to be late.

To date we have shipped well over 20,000 pairs of free jeans.

When we contacted the customer by mail,

that was to let them know that we received

their order. The mailing also confirms and

checks for the correct mailing address.

We are glad they received the notification.

The regular retail for the jeans is

$56 plus shipping and handling ($10.95).

The regular retail for the shirts ranges

from $32 to $36 plus shipping and

handling ($6.95 S&H). Full price orders

Jean Free Jean Giveaway orders take

longer than a regular full price order.

If they placed an order for free

jeans or shirts, the fee paid

is for the shipping and handling.

We have had some manufacturing

delays in the past which has

caused free jean orders to be late.

We are currently making arrangements

to manufacture more styles

We were hoping to have backorders shipped

we were not able to. We are working

very hard to get all free jeans orders shipped.
