IPA representative's called then showed up same day promising they could locate fund sources for our company, guaranteed! After two people for two days hung around the office we recieved a meaningless report and a bill for $8,500. Thier recomendation "Factor" our accounts receivable. In a nutshell get cash for receivables and lose 10% of our receivables value. In other words instead of obtaining funds we would lose cash out of our receivables.

As part of their tactic they asked for and we gave them post dated checks with their assurance they would not be cashed if we were not satisfied. After we received their silly report we stoped payment on the checks and wrote them a letter informing them of our dissatisfaction and cancelation of payment.

We have received a fax letter from IPA indicating their intention to take legal action against us. IPA is located in Illinois and we are in Ohio.

We are looking for advise as to how to proceed from here.

You should take action

I am a former "Senior Area Manager" and you can read my post on this report. I also live in the Cleveland, Ohio area and if you have not yet contacted the Reda & DesJardins law firm about their class action suit against IPA, you should do so right away. Just google "ipalawsuit" and you will get to their web site.

Another course of action I strongly reccomend is that you go to the Ohio Attorney General's web site or office and file a consumer complaint there. Mark Dann is aggressively pursuing consumer complaints and rip offs. If more people that have been either harrassed or victimized by IPA's tactics did this, perhaps the company will be put out of business.

Your solution is quite simple.

#3Consumer Suggestion

Understand that IPA will run from any former client who shows strength.

First, file a complaint with your state, county, and even city Attorney General regarding IPA.

Second, file a complaint with your state, county, city Better Business Bureau.

Third, contact you local newspaper to be interviewed for an article detailing the treatment, tactics, and lack of value received to warn other businesses in your area.

While you may be hestitant to follow the above processes, be brave. It is NOT an embarrassment to have been duped by these crooks. That is what they are counting on - you will be too embarrassed to disclose that you were a sucker for their very smooth methods. I would be willing to bet that many others in your area have experienced the same loss in time and money. Share your story and other will come forward.
