Dear people.
Plase do not encourage iPOP/JRP by giving them money. iPOP is just the latest way that they have of reaching into your pockets. The people who you are performing for are either the parents of the other participants or they are being paid to play th role of "agent". SOme may actually be agents but the main reason that they are there is to earn the appearance money (which can be pretty big in some cases.)

If you want to find a parallel think of the regional beauty pageants that spin around the country every year. iPOP is designed to emulate that sort of peer pressure/keeping up with the joneses mentality. Sure we are proud of our kids...but are we brave enough to call everything off when we see that it is all a scam?

If you pay attention to the iPOP selection process you will see that the performers chosen to participate are most often the ones that are the most likely to be able to afford the honor. What is it now 10.000.00? Something close to that anyway. JRP trains their people to look for affluent parents.

The thing to remember is that, according to every legitimate source...you should never ever ever have to pay for any audition (iPOP is essentially an audition...if it is not, then what is it?). If you are asked to pay for an audition then you know that you are dealing with a scammer (like iPOP/JRP).

Did you know that the iPOP selections generate commisions for the person who signed the performer up and for the franchise? It's sort of like a sting operation wherein the performer is brought along slowly and then hit for the big prize when they have been primed and have had time to be convinced that iPOP is where they want to be.

So yes, I was scammed, they kept my "refundable deposit" but I did some research before I gave them the rest of the money.

I had to tell my daughter that the JRP epople were not good people and that iPOP wasnt the best thing for her and she understood. She is involved in the drama club at her school now, is planning on a drama major in college in 2 years, and I will use the money that I saved to buy her a car next year.

I I happen to go to John Robert Powers. I have also been accepted into iPOP! Trust me if cash had anything to do with being accepted into iPOP! I could NEVER make it. My family and I lost are home and my dad is having a VERY hard time getting jobs (he works for himself) I have two older brothers and we had all been accepted. I am going to iPOP! L.V. this June.

I may be dirt poor but I have a TALENT and thats what they want.Grant it they make money, what business doesnt, so looking at this logically all businesses are a scam

B.T.W. Im fifteen. Call me inept if you want but Im getting my G.E.D. as soon as I turn sixteen. I bid you a due my fellow countrymen and to all ye a good night.

On another thread you said you were part of an agency and that you would never use JRP, but you had "heard" a lot of negative things.

Now on this thread you are a parent warning other parents about iPOP.

So which time are you being truthful, or are you lying both times?

I would think the website took your posts off since they are obviously fake. People need to be able to take the complaints seriously, not wade through a bunch of worthless stuff.
