A while back, I thought it would be nice to start a internet business. After looking through companies and their names, I found Ipower.com.
They were running a Valentines Day Special and even offered a 30 day money back guarantee. They were the cheapest and after looking around at their website, I felt that this would be right way to go.
I paid through PAYPAL and then it activated an account for me. First of all, their web editing tools were horrible and did not offer anything close to what I wanted. No wonder they were offering a domain name and hosting for 47 USD! Every time I needed something, it would have to involve a 'upgrade' which of course cost plenty.
So I decided that it would be ok. After all, I was still within the 30 day money back guarantee.
Oh, if only I knew. I called their help number which advertises as "24 hour support." HA! If there was a better joke than that, PLEASE share it with me. I was on hold for two hours! Finally, I hung up because I knew no one was there.
Feeling like I was getting scammed, I tried to go to their live help. For the next five days, they were having a "network shortage". Great, now the end of the 30 day guarantee was coming to an end now! For sure!
So, on the sixth day when I finally logged in, it said I was number.....57 in line!!! Can't be too bad right? Wrong, my laptop was on for seven hour! And finally a rep answered and asked what they could do for me. I told them I wanted a refund. They said they would cancel the account and then my refund would be complete within seven to ten business days. Yeah, right. I waited and contacted live help again. This time I was number....78! My laptop was on for nine hours. When a rep finally talk to me again, they told me I had to wait another seven to ten business days. I tried to log into my account only to see that is was no valid anymore. Great, I thought. They must be through the first phase. I will see my refund soon.
YEAH RIGHT!
I did not see my refund after thirteen or so days. So two night ago, I log onto Live Help again..wait a crazy long time. And this time...they claim they NEVER GOT PAYMENT FROM ME. I was getting really angry at this point. I asked him to quit joking with me but he insisted he was serious. He tells me there was never an account under that name. I tell him it was because it was canceled. We argue back and forth until he asks me for proof of payment.
I forwarded him my PAYPAL email proof. Then he tells me my credit card will be refunded. Dude, I just SAID I PAID BY PAYPAL! He tells me that I will get a response within 24 hours. I get really angry and tell him that if I did not get a response within 24 hours, I will talk legal action. The rep tells me "Sure" and logs off on me.
I waited 24 hours and did not see a response. So I log back onto Ipower Live Help. This rep was much nicer and kept saying sorry. But hell, time is time! You will NEVER GET IT BACK.
She told me she will open a ticket for me and I will get a response within 24 hours. This time I did get a response...but only to be told again that I NEVER PAID. I told them that I sent proof just last night and am awaiting another response.
Please, for your sake, DO NOT USE IPOWER.COM. YOU WILL REGRET IT!
