IPS Parcel, Mr. Murat Gultepe ,President, Ms. Stacie N. Ross ,Executive Manager, International Parcel Services, Inc. Overcharges. Bills more than published rates after receiving your merchandise as a hostage. Clearwater, Florida
IPS Parcel is a company that offers an international package consolidation and forwarding service to online shoppers who want to buy from US sellers and get their purchases shipped on to them overseas.
IPS has reasonable rates displayed on its website, but if you sign up and send your purchases to their Florida warehouse, then ask for them to be forwarded, you will get a bill that is much higher than the rates given on their site. Then you have four choices: 1) Pay it, 2) Pay to have all the items sent back to their origins, if you can get a refund for them, 3) Don't pay, and let IPS keep your goods, and 4) Don't pay, and let IPS possibly send your goods and charge your card anyway.
Not much of a choice, is it? IPS knows that they have your goods as a hostage to make you pay what they ask for.
This is a deceitful practice, and their "customer service" people are largely snippy and rude.
I will not be using them again, of course, so it all boils down to a very short-sighted policy on their part. They get a one-time gain at the customer's expense and irritation, but they then have to find new victims to fleece.
My advice is to avoid IPS Parcel. There are vastly better options out there.
