Complaint Review: Irish Jacks Violet Meadow Farms

Beware of Susan Sarao of Violet Meadow Farms, also known as Irish Jacks! The puppies are adorable, but they are imported from mills in Ireland and receive no vetting prior to going up for sale. She does all the vaccinations and worming herself (is this legal?). She also sells puppies with congenital problems and then tries to wait until you bond to them so she can keep your money.

All the while she plays mind games and tries to make you feel guilty, when she is the one being dishonest. When I returned the puppy to her because she would not cover the vet bills for pre-existing congenital conditions, she was hostile and angry, and said that my vet must have been "very thorough" to find the hernia problems because she couldn't see them. As if she is a vet! She suggested solving the hernia problem by massaging the puppy's abdomen roughly until it causes damage, makes scar tissue and closes up the hernias. ???

She easily has 25-30 puppies and young dogs onsite at any time, with more constantly on the way. In addition to the puppy I bought (and returned) there, which had bilateral inguinal hernias and allergies, I know of one other dog purchased there who had kennel cough, severe skin allergies and ended up needing patella surgery on a rear leg.

Her prices are beyond outrageous and way out of line for the dogs she sells, which are not even in good condition. Please do not use this puppy broker!!
