Complaint Review: ISelfmove.com

ISelfmove.com Moving services ripoff, iSelfmove through Budget Truck takes money, no service, no refund Internet

My husband and I have relocated from Oregon to Wichita, KS. We used Budget Truck for a rental truck. Needing to hire moving help, we used the link on Budget Truck to hiring unloading help. This took us to www.iselfmove.com - where I paid with my Visa debit card for 2 hours of unloading help weeks before our move. The amount was debited from our checking account.

We rented our truck on Sat, July 26th (rental is good for 7 days). With loading help from friends, (both of us are late 50s and have bad backs), we got on the road on Monday, July 29th, expecting our unloading help to be at the apts in Wichita at 9AM, Aug. 1st. No one showed up. After about 2 hours after they were supposed to show up, I called the company that I had received as my movers, KS Pod Movers, who informed me that they no longer did business with iSelfmove.com. They didn't have any movers available, but they did suggest a local company who was fabulous:

I then call iSelfmove.com and get Felicia Chavez (supposedly Exectutive Vice-President of National Operations) who told me that they had called me repeatedly and sent email to let me know they cannot provide services. (I am in the front seat of a 15' truck with no cell phone or internet access until I get moved into the Wichita apt and setup the computers). When I do get the computer and phone setup, the email has only been sent the day before, and there is one phone message on my answering machine, apologizing for not having services and claiming that they are refunding my money. On the website it specifically says that they hire only movers, not day labor. The two numbers that iSelfmove and Felicia Chavez provide me are for day labor with the instructions, "Just be sure to ask for moving help".

I have been repeatedly calling and emailing this company to just credit back my $299.00. Not only did I have to come up with an additional $300 to find another local moving company (whose price was actually less for more work), but this jeopardized the check I had just given for my rent at our new apt. not to mention the stress and grief of sweltering on the hottest day of the summer in Wichita (heat index: 113) with the truck which is now going to be late 2 days @ $75. a day). Luckily, Budget Truck worked with me and did not charge me additional days. Budget Truck was great, provided good service. I called Budget Truck's national phone number (800) 283-4382, reported the problem and asked for corporate phone numbers which were refused to be given to me by the customer service representative.

I have repeatedly called both toll free and local (Poway, California area) phone numbers but have had no response, no answers to email, and a complete refusal to contact me. If anyone has any suggestions about how to get my money back, or how to file grievances or suit against these scheisters, please feel free to contact me with suggestions:

This is another company Dan Cunningham started. For those of you who do not know Mr. Cunningscam, do a search on this site and you will get a good idea of who you are dealing with. Iselfmove and those who work for this company are scammers.

iSelfMove Response to Janet Kerr Complaint

Regarding iSelfMove and Janet Kerr.
When the mover, American Movers KS, was first contacted he accepted the move. He never said anything about not working with us anymore. When he was called the day before the scheduled move to confirm, he informed our rep that he would not do the move because He was out of town. He still never said anything about not working with us anymore. We then tried to find another mover and all that work with us were booked. We tried contacting the customer numerous times by phone but no answer and no voicemail. An email was also sent. She did contact us the day and time of her move because the movers were not there and we informed her of the situation and yes we gave her the number for day labor only as a last resort so she would have help. She was immediately refunded her full amount on Friday August 1, 2008. She was sent an email immediately informing her of the refund. Refunds take a couple business days to process and since it was the weekend it may have taken slightly longer. However, she was refunded immediately. We have sent the transaction information to her again. To say that we had not contacted her is not true. To say she was not refunded is not true. No-shows are a fact of life in the moving business and we can only rely on the integrity of the movers to perform the scheduled move. We are truly sorry for this situation but feel that our name and reputation has been damaged without the full story being made known.
