Complaint Review: Island Dinette

In February of 2007 I purchased a kitchen table from Island Dinette in Patchogue, NY. I advised the sales lady (Kathy) that I would not be able to accept delivery right away as my home was not finished being built
Kathy advised me it would not be a problem that the table would be held in their warehouse and I should just call when I am ready for delivery.

I contacted Island Dinette in October of 2008 to set up delivery. I was advised to contact the Warehouse to set up delivery. I contacted the warehouse and spoke to the Manager Andre who was to get back to me with a delivery date. After many calls to Andre I received a delivery date. My table was delivered around November of 2007 and I was to give the remainding balance of 1,000 (already gave a 726.13 deposit upon purchase) in cash. My husband was home to accept delivery on the table. I arrived home and realized that this was not the table I ordered.

I contacted Andre to advise of this situation who was to look into it. After 3 months of me contacting Andre who was unable to give me an answer on when my new table would come I demanded that I get my money back and to pick up the table that was delivered.

I went into Island Dinette out of curiousity to see how much the set was that they delivered and was shocked to find out it was a $900.00 table but they had 1,726.13 of my money - I had been robbed.

It is now March of 2008 and I have been strung along week after week by Andre the Manager. He has now for the second week in a row canceled the return of my money and the pick up of this junky table they delivered.

Andre has been completely, useless, unprofessional and dishonest. It is truly shocking to me any company would hire someone of that character to manager any part of their company.and in my opinion useless.

I finally realized that I have been completely ripped off and Island Dinette has stole approximately $700.00 from me.
