On October 26, 2002 I purchased a table and six (6) chairs from Island Dinette, 435 Old Country Road, Westbury, NY. Unfortunately at that time I paid for the order in full. I requested delivery by Christmas and my saleman, "Yvon", said he would try his best.

By mid-December is was confirmed that delivery would not be made by Christmas. At this time relations were still good and I was offered a loner set. However, the loner was so awful I refused delivery.

Directly after Christmas I called the store for the status of the order and was told to call the main office located at 909 Conklin Street, Farmingdale, New York, (631) 249-2488. Customer service then informed me that the manufacturer closes for three (3) weeks every year and to please call back after January 13, 2003.

From January 13, 2003 to January 31, 2003 I called either the store of the main office on a daily basis and at no time did I ever receive a return call advising me of the status.

On January 31, 2003 I faxed and mailed a letter to the main office as well as the saleman at the show room from the attorneys office I work for. My managing attorney also called and left a message which also went unanswer.

On February 2, 2003 I went to the showroom and spoke to the saleman personally. After a lengthy conversation he assured me that the general manager "Rudy" would contact me on February 3, 2003. On February 3, 2002 I left two unanswered messages for "Rudy". I than called "Yvon" and he advised me he would get in touch with "Rudy" for me.

Rudy finally called and assured me that the set was completed and that he would send me a check for $200.00 as an adjustment in exchange for my agrravation.

I have since waited an additional ten (10) days and I have not received the furniture nor have I received the $200.00 adjustment check.

I called Customer Service today and when I told the receptionist my name she informed me no managers would be in today. I called "Yvon" and advided him of this situation and he refused to assist me.

My order form clearly indicates delivery in eight (8) to ten (10) weeks. It has now been almost sixteen (16) weeks since this order was placed! Island Dinette has not supplied my furniture, returned my calls, forwarded my adjustment or dealt in a civil manner with me since December, 2002.

During the February 2, 2003 conversation I requested that the order be cancelled and my money returned, only to be told that was impossible due to the fact that they paid the manufacturer. This company has been passinh responsibility around and not providing one service that I have either purchased or that they promised.

Please assist me in resolving this extremely frustrating situation.
