Beware eBayers! I was interested in an item up for bids on eBay. I contacted the seller to ask a question, at which point, he gained access to my email address. The seller then emailed me and offered to sell me the item directly through a company named "iSold It."

The seller claimed that the transaction would be legitimate and within eBay rules. He claimed that he was out of town and needed to sell the item through "iSold It" immediately because his mother was sick back home. He agreed to let me purchase the item at a very attractive price.

Once I agreed to the sell, he cancelled the auction on eBay. He then sent me several fake emails, supposedly from "iSold It." The emails look legitimate. They contain logos from eBay, iSold It, and the Better Business Bureau, as well as copyright stamps.

The fake emails contained payment instructions. The buyer requested that I wire the money to (the fake) iSold It agent via Western Union.

On my way out the door to go to Western Union, I decided to look up the actual "iSold It" store on the internet once again. I found contact information for all their stores, but found that they DO NOT have a store in Miami! I contacted several different legitimate iSold It store fronts and spoke with legitimate iSold It agents who informed me that the internet deal was indeed a SCAM!

The real iSold It will NEVER ask ANYONE to wire cash to them. I confronted the once eager seller with my discovery and found him to not be so eager to deal with me anymore. Once I found him out, he never emailed me again. He disappeared! Please do not be a victim of this scam. I feel so bad for all the others he has probably already cheated out of thousands of dollars!
