In September of 2008 my husband and I bought a whole house water system with a total balance of 7550.89. We made all but 2 payments in (May and August 2011) on time due to our bank (BoA) having tecnical issues and thus we were only 1 week late. We were assessed penalty fees and dropped from our "special" interest rate pricing with no notice and our minimum payment went up from 75 to 80 dollars a month- no biggie right?

WRONG! Each month out of our 80 payment 62.30 is interest only! We now owe a balance of 8,007.00! So we called to see if we could make arrangements to get our interest rate back and re-enroll in their auto payment system. (The reason we were late to begin with) We received in the mail a statement saying we could but then on the phone we were told no and assessed a penalty in order to restart the auto- pay program.

All these fees and 3 years into it we owe more than we started with! And they will not refinance nor allow you to transfer their balance to a credit card you may get from a bank etc. I don't know what to do!
