iStaff is everything that is wrong with IT Recruiting. I did not get ripped off, but I believe this firm needs to be exposed for its lack of talent, sincerity, and standing in the world of technical recruiting. The two main culprits are the CEO, Jason Smith, and his second in command, Jeremy McNeil. Both of these men claim to be strong Christians and claim to promote a culture of honesty at their struggling little shop. They hold bible studies, prayer meetings, and wear the fake smiles for all to see. Beneath the surface are two money-hungry individuals focused on manipulation of clients and candidates. All of the recruiters claim that each company they represent is a wonderful working environment which makes up for the lack of pay by promoting a family-friendly culture. What they forget to mention is that these companies are crappy and don't want to pay what people are really worth. It's an absolute lie. One of their recent hires, Ally Dobbs, must've seen right through this and left after only four months. So much for separating yourselves. As for the recruiters and account managers, they are an unimpressive bunch. In particular, Nate Barrett, Matt Shumake, and Joe Broccoli (aka Steve Buscemi) are at the forefront of this lack of talent. Nate and Matt are the "experienced" recruiters on the team, but they fail to hit the mark when it comes to decent submittals. Joe Broccoli will make you think that he has skills as an account manager, but he's weak and indecisive. In closing, I recommend that your company avoid partnering with iStaff simply because you will be wasting your time and they won't be able to deliver. If you are a recruiter, why in the world would you want to work there?
