I purchased my vehicle brand new in 2000.I had about 53,000 miles on the engine.one day I was coming home from work. I heard this loud noise coming from the engine.I took my system to dealer where I had purchase system and the person who took the vehicle check and saw my system was under warranty.

I receive a call from the dealer three days later and they ask where I was getting my services done at. I explain to him jiffy lube and they wanted a record of the work before they can open the vehicle up. I went to jiffy lube to get a record of all of my maintenace on the vehicle.I had my first road block because they told me that there computer crashed and they had no record past three months prior but being that they have been servicing my vehicle for a year and a half that just bring the card of the service manager with his name and phone number if they wanted to verify the info.

I went back to king automall and brought the info to them and the service rep told me that they could not anything with that info and I could call the isuzu office to see what they can do.I call them up and got a rep that told me that if the service rep state that the issue was a failure on their part they would fix it.I call king automall and explain that to them and I got another blow which is I had to give them authorization to open the engine because if Isuzu does not cover it them I will owe them $1000 for opening up the engine.I said ok to them even though that is not what the isuzu told me.well right before the new year(2002)

I receive a call letting me know that they had two option of fixing my vehicle one will cost $5,100 for rebuilding the block or $7,500 of replacing the engine.I ask the rep what about the warranty he stated to me that without any proof of service they could fix the vehicle under warranty.to make the story shjort I had been making car payment for the last year and half for vehicle that is not running because I do not have that type of money to fix the vehicle because that is the reason why I purchased a new vehicle.

please if anyone outthere knows a way please let me know.I can tell you one thing Isuzu will never get my money again even though they do not give a d**n about a person like myself.

Call TX. they can help you

#7Consumer Suggestion

Jiffy lube mails all invoices to corp. in TX. every other month. It is not crazy for Jiffy to not have your records in the store computer as corp. renews the system. As far as your complaint being against "Jiffy Lube" that could not be more untrue. Jiffy Lube is like anyother place you go to they have to send records off to the main office or there would be no room in the store to work. This car was taken to jiffy lube for 1 year you say and the car is a 2000....where was it taken before jiffy?

All you have to do is call TX and I am sure they would be more then happy to help you. Steve how does this have anything to do with getting an oil change at jiffy lube other then finding the records? I have read over and over and still I yet to find anything in the post about jiffy lube doing anyone wrong. True some people have been done wrong by jiffy lube and that is true for almost any place in the US. but that is not all jiffy lubes in the world.

I do not work at jiffy but I can tell you my family, friends along with myself have been taking our cars to our jiffy for years and have never had anything but the best service. They are always there when we want to know anything about our car and always take the time for even the small stuff. They do not try to sale us stuff we dont need like other places I have heard of. They know me by my first name and it feels like family there.

I hope that you can get some help in getting your car fixed!

God bless

KEEP ALL RECIEPTS

What you have failed to do is follow the guidelines of the warr. and keep all records to provide to the company is requested. for all warr. you must read carefully and follow all guidelines in case you need to make a claim.
this is your responsabilty and NO ONE elses.
however, i would suggest asking them if you agree to auth t/d and the failure is covered under the warr and does not turn out to be maintaince related (ie: sludge) if they would consider coverage. i hope you are not going to discontinue to drive isuzu products for this reason as you will find the same thing with them all. get use to the bus or keep your records and make sure you do them on time.
good luck

Keep Your Reciepts

#7Consumer Suggestion

I agree with the first rebutt. that contacting the j-lube corp. ofc's may turn up some help however, you are supposed to keep important paperwork for anything or should. You wouldn't just throw out last years taxes or mortgage info. would you? Anything that has a warranty means that you need to show proof of purchase or maint. to keep a warrany entact generally speaking. So my advice although it's not helpful for this situation is to always save your proof of purchase or receipts to track your maint. on anything regardless of the material item. It may help in the future. As for this situation, I'd ask that jiffy lube store where they keep the copies of their invoices. If you have some dates maybe they can give you a copy of their receipts on file. It's worth a shot for over $5k.

Your not going to like my response. Your complaint should be against "Jiffy Lube"

1. Isuzu like any other manufacture is within its rights to ask for "your maintenance receipts" for a engine/transmission failure.

2. Isuzu is not looking for your most recent maintenance receipt they're requesting your last 7 to 8 if you have those you should be okay.

3. Your complaint should be against "Jiffy Lube" they lost your maintenance records, Isuzu or King Auto Mall have nothing to do with your maintenance records keeping... in fact where are the receipts Jiffy Lube gave you?

4. You may want to contact Jiffy Lube corporate check if their outlet records are stored in a nationwide data base.

5. Your last statement should read:I can tell you one thing "Jiffy Lube" will never get my money again even though they do not give a d**n about a person like myself.
