On or about April 2004 my daughter happened to be visiting me at our family owned business, an auto repair shop. The phone rang and she answered it. A gentleman was on the phone and asked her to speak to someone in charge. She told him that I was busy and she could take a message and I would call them back. This gentleman proceeded to ask her to find out if we currently receive the YELLOW PAGES. She hollored back and asked if we get the yellow pages. I told her Yes we do why. She said a gentleman on the phone wanted to know. A few minutes later she came back and said the man on the phone wants to know if we want to get the yellow pages and Again I said Of course we want the yellow pages!! The gentleman asked for the address and her name and told her that we would be recieving a phone book that was goldish yellow in the next few days. No mention of any cost, he didnt aske her age or if she was an employee (which she isnt). She told me that the man said we would get a new book in a few days but that it would be Yellowish gold instead of the normal Yellow color. I am an Auto Repair facility and I reciev books and magazines from suppliers all the time for FREE. I recieved this gold book and put it under the counter with the rest of the supplier catalogs. This book came with no packing slip or invoice. A month later i recieved a bill for 399.95 from IT Direct. I called them and told them I order no book from them and I was not going to pay this amount. They informed me that the gold book I received was 3.99 and was a contract for 2 more years!! I told them I did not order it, they could come and get it. They then told me they do not offer that service. I offered then to send it back COD and again they refused and stated that I must pay for the book. I told them to come and get it because i was not paying for it, I did not order it and hung up. Sometime in the past 5 Years they must have gotten my fax number from somewhere because I recieved another bill with an invoice by fax from them. The invoice stated the order date and that it was ordered by my daughter (They spelled her first and last name incorrectly) and this bill was now for over 1,200.00 as they wanted over 800 dollars in interest!!! This company purposely solicited my company and used misleading tactics.

I filed a complaint to my Attorney general here in Michigan andam wondering if I need to file with anyone else!
