Complaint Review: It's About Time Fine Clock Repair

I took my family antique cuckoo clock to Its about time Fine Clock repair.  I was told that by Mr. Bassett that the clock needed to be dissasembled, cleaned and bellows repaired.  The time frame for this repair was to be five months at a cost of 300.00 dollars based on an estimated three to four hours labor. After five months went by I contacted Mr. Bassett and inquired about the progress that had been made on the clock.  I was informed that he was working on it and it would be an additional five days to finish.  I informed Mr. Bassett that i would be working out of town for the summer and that i would call on my return.  I ended up being out of town for almost five months and called on my return.  I was told that he would have to locate my clock and that it was packed up somewhere in the house.  He took my number and said he would call back when found.  I recieved no call and had to once again call to find out info on the clock. This time he informed me that the clock was dissasembled in pieces.  This is after he was in posession of my clock for almost a year.  I at this time I informed Mr. Bassett of my intention to retrieve the clock from him and find someone that I could trust to do repairs.  Repairs will now cost more do to the clock being a basket case and honestly I dont even know that all parts are with the clock since there is an additional pendulum that does not belong with my clock.  I personaly would not recomend this repair facility to anyone.  Shame on me for not looking at other customer reviews concerning this business. I went with my gut feeling and trusted this man to provide a service that he was unable to fulfill.
