I am a military officer and I joined IJL after I returned from deployment to Iraq.  I knew in just a short year, I would be returning to Afghanistan, so I wanted to make the most of my time in the States (i.e. not cruising bars for women that I would have no long term interest in)

I was excited to hear about IJL and went in for an interview.  Their process was thorough and I felt they had a good understanding of what I was looking for...the dates I went on afterwards proved me wrong.  The women I met, while nice, were not even close to a good fit for me.  No lay person would make this match, and these were supposed to be experts.  I went back in for another interview, to correct any misunderstandings about my preferences.  They demonstrated a clear inability to adjust to clear requests. Leading me to waste more time and money on dates.

It wasn't only the matches, I take issue with the validity of their business practice.  I would receive voicemail informing me I had a date, the time and place, 2 days late.  They were late because I was on training exercises and out of cell phone range.  Instead of waiting for my confirmation, they sent some poor girl to sit at a restaurant alone for an hour.  I'm sure her complaint will come shortly after mine.

The dates were awkward....How did "It's Just Lunch" turn into...."It's just a romantic candlelit dinner in an expensive restaurant where the waiter slides you the bill even though none of that is supposed to happen."

I wanted to be done with the company.  I offered to recover only 70% of my $1000 for 'services rendered.'  They refused.  They kept trying to send me out there and couldn't understand my unwillingness to let them keep wasting even more of my time and money.  I guess I should have prepared my own contract before I went.
