Complaint Review: Italia International Cheleste Marchetti

I unfortunately found out about their reputation until the last minutes. First when they came to my house they, gave me a quote about the total cost of the material and work. They began the work the following morning but did not secure anything. As a result their was dust all over my floors, furniture . They did not secure their working area and were dropping tools on the wooden floor, dropping Sheetrock mud on it and leaving a mess everywhere.
The demolition part was done fast, but the next part was a nightmare. Half the time the workers would show up but their would be no material to work with. I would try to contact Crystal (her foreman) and she would make some half a*s excuse on what is going on. Thats when i decided to search them and began to worry after seeing the reports.

The first major problem happened painting the cabinets, the guys did not know what they were doing. I began talking to them and later found out she had just picked them up, so i didnt know what kind of people where in my house. Like all things the granite took forever because she did not supply the material to the people. When it came to laying the tile, material wasnt there and the guy she had didnt know what he was doing. It was a total nigthmare. She finally got someone who knew what they were doing and it turned out good. So here comes the good part.

All this time i have had a horrible ordeal getting a hold of anyone but never could. The day the project is done she shows up at my door demanding the money(not even an hour passed since the people who installed the tile left). At this point i am tired and didnt want to deal with her so I wrote her a check for the final amount. Then her husband comes up and demands more money because she "underestimated the cost of the project" so now he wanted me to give him a check for almost 2000 more. They threaten me, told me a bunch of lies, and i finally had to call the cops to get them out of my house. I have the original contract, and she wanted to add more money to it. During this whole argument the guy is arguing like crazy and then out of the blue he mentions about his workers cant work on the side (even though he contracts everything out). After he left i notice some business cards one of the guy that contracts under him left me in case the sink fails where gone. makes me wonder what else is missing, Now i have to check the cameras and take account of my belongings

To make matters worse she tries to scam the workers she hires, by telling them she cant pay them cause the customer hasnt payed. She tried pulling this stunt on me except, I talk to the workers and one of them called me. He said he knew I had paid cause i had told him earlier. Later as i talk to other contractors they tell me they are known for not paying for jobs.

Beware of these scamers and avoid them like the plague
