ITT-Technical Institute Honesty is not valued Boise Idaho

After graduating from ITT-Boise, I was offered jobs that paid less than I was capable of making before my education. I was stuck with lots of debt with no way of paying it. 13 years later, I went to work at ITT just to be disappointed again. Students were referred to "cheeks in seats" and it was all about getting numbers. I was pressured to hit numbers and there was a revolving door. I found myself doing to students what had been done to me. I know there are a few success stories out there but the majority are not. I could go on and on about what happens behind the closed doors. My values and ethics came in to question every day. On two seperate occasions, I reported unethical behavior and eventually I was terminated for "comitting a workplace violation". Instead of addressing the unethical behavior, it was brushed under the rug. The environment is no different than a used car lot.

Lots of promises, you will be told about all these fabulous resources and career help as long as you live. I have went on to get a real education that is accepted by all regionally accredited schools. I now have letters behind my name and by the way, with more education than the person in charge of the school, I was told I am not qualified to teach. Everyone should get an education but keep in mind, it is YOUR decision where you attend and don't let a salesperson pressure you in to a decision that could leave you in a horrible financial position. I value education but this should not be about making shareholders wealthy at the expense of people trying to better their lives. This is not the end of my postings, I will have more to report soon.

In conclusion, the majority of students who start at ITT, don't finish which leaves them in debt with no degree. At least at a public university a student has the ability to have credits transfer and if they don't finish during the first attempt, they will not be left in a bad position.

Doug is spot-on in how marks (aka "students") are viewed at ITT

Had to laugh, Doug--"cheeks in seats"; the dean at the ITT branch where I taught for one quarter referred to students as "little johnny jump-ups."
