My experience with ITT Technical Institute was not a good one. After visiting the campus on a high school trip I decided to sign up.

The recruiter who was signing me up gave me completely false information. From the very start I asked him directly the following questions

1.) Do you have job placement percentages you can give me?
Response: "No, nobody has graduated from the programming class yet. After they graduate you will be givin the statistics."

2.) Is this an advanced technical school?
Response: Yes,etc. etc.
*The technical of the programming classes was very BASIC programming techniques.*

3.) Do I have to take Art, English, etc? I am here for computers and do not want to spend time with english, etc.
Response: No, their is no art class or classes like that.

To Sum it up, I was trying to get into programming but the problem was it was not completly setup yet. I feel they shoved me towards Networking (after a semester of NETWORK classes) I asked and I was on a 'Networking' schedule instead of my programming courses.

After the first class of Programming graduates I asked for job placement records. They told me to ask this person and that person. Never could get a copy of ANY job placement records.

The bigest problem (other then dishonest recruiters) was the ignorance of the instructors. The programming books had multiple errors in them (that the instructors rarely ever pointed out). Ive been programming for many years before attending this school and they did not even cover 75% of the 'beginner' information required for any sort of job.

I directly asked the instructors questions that I already knew the answers and they told me the complete opposite.

Our C++ instructor often times never showed up for class. Leaving a room full of students with no instructor. This problem was never addressed.

The days I really was absent did not reflect correctly with grade sheets I recieved. Often times students who was absent was showed as being at school.

I drive 1 hour 3 days a week just to get to the campus. I feel this school (at least this location) is just a scam to make money and feel obligated to mention my story in hopes of keeping somebody going in debt for something that they was lied to about.

If you do go for a interview I would recommend taking a recordable cassete player and asked if it was ok to record the conversation. If I did I would of went to the courts.
