Ivory Corporation Attempted to rip me off Stony Brook New York
I recieved a letter in the mail with a check from a company claiming to be in New York, but the phone numbers for the company (after further research) are both Canada numbers.
The letter reads as follows:
ATTN: Notice of Winning

We have made many unsuccessful attempts to contact you regarding this winning. (this is the first I have heard from them)
Your ticket with serial number 38745014AL drew the lucky winning numbers 38-44-66-79-91
You are therefore entitled to the sum of US $250,000 payable to you by either money order or certified check.
Enclosed is a check for $5975.00 which was deducted from your winnings. The purpose of this check is for the payment of the Non Resident Government Srvice Tax (GST).
The tax amount is USD $2985.00 to be paid either by Western Union or moneygram.
You are advised to contact your assigned claim agent, ED SIMON at 1-416-893-7232, for further instructions on how you can claim your big winnings.
Congratulations!!!!! signed John Tyler
When I contacted the bank that the check is drawn on (North Fork Bank) they told me that the company did not have an account with them and that the routing numbers and account numbers did not match thier any numbers that of thier accounts.
I called MR Ed Simon and told him that the bank said that the account did not exist and asked (playing dumb) why was that he said i dont understand why they said that and then said hold on, only to hang up on me...i called back 3 times and 3 times he hung up on me.
When i seems too good to be true it usually is....please beware
