I don't want to get too specific because I don't want this barn to know who I am. I, as well as many other people, have had a horse at J and A ranch for a while. The owners have got to be the worst caretakers I have ever seen!! No exaggeration!!! I want to prevent anyone from unknowingly boarding there horse there. From one horse owner to another. I can tell you that if you google J and A Ranch Franksville Wisconsin you will find reviews that people have posted on sites such as yahoo local and city search. When I found those, I thought that if people read those first maybe they would see that I am not the only one.
My horse was there too long. (Actually even one day is too long.) The Humane society has been called at least four times. Once by me. I was told that although it wasn't the way this humane officer would have her horse treated, they were not breaking the law in any way so she could do nothing. She said as long as they have water, there is nothing she could do. So... I just waited. I figured that I couldn't be the only person they've done this to and I was right. They have been advertising on craigslist for their barn and I have been posting warnings on there so people would know the facts. I feel bad for every horse that is still there. If I can steer just one person away from there all of this is worth it. The bottom line is... Don't board your horse at J and A Ranch. You will regret it. I speak from experience.

For The Truth Contact J&A Ranch

#2Consumer Comment

Wed, February 04, 2009

If you want the truth about J&A Ranch contact the owners. It seems that previous boarders who have left for whatever reason are now spreading not so true statements about J&A Ranch. J&A Ranch is a wonderful and kind place to board your horse or horses. Boarders like me have been there for a long time and I have positive things to say about this stable. The horses at J&A Ranch to include mine are healthy and very happy. As one of the long term boarders of 12 years, I can tell you that I have never seen abuse or mistreating of any horse at this facility by J&A Ranch or John and Terry. It amazes me that people would be mean to others who have gone out of there way to help those boarders who were here and then left. It really makes me wonder if they will do the same thing when they leave the boarding place they are currently at. Maybe we should post comments at their current stables to watch out for these mean and angry boarders because this could happen to them. Yes the Humane Society was called out each time an angry boarder left J&A Ranch. The Humane Society found nothing wrong at J&A Ranch. Nothing wrong. It's that simple. If for one minute I thought my horses were in danger you can bet your bottom dollar I would have moved them in a New York minute. J&A Ranch is a good boarding place for your horse(s). I can board my horses anywhere but I choose J&A Ranch. We have 3 long term boarders, Boarders who have been with us for just few months and others who have been here for years and they will all tell you that J&A Ranch is a nice place to board a horse. There will always be 2 sides to every story. A true equine person will always check things out for themselves before making a decision to board their horse. After all it's about the best care you can find for your horse that matters. In spite of what some people think, J&A Ranch does provide great care to horses. I speak from 12 years of experience boarding my horses at J&A Ranch and 25 plus years in the horse world.
