My truck would not pass smog so took it to J and M Auto Repair. Thought I would need a tune up but was told by the owner of the shop that the pistons were blew in the motor and was going to be alot to fix. Mike the owner said he could get a good deal on a motor and because of the high miles on my truck he said "replace the motor and it would run like new.. I thought it would be a good move because  I did not want car payments or higher insurance rates. He got my truck on October 24, 2012 and was returned to me running like crap and had no power on January 6th, 2013. He had my truck for OVER 2 MONTHS.. He said he could not find what was wrong with it and then blamed problem on transmission because it could not be the motor that he put it... Unbelievable... and said it was in the valve body of the transmission. Did not have a transmission problem. He told me the transmission was good in it when he put the used motor in it. $2800.00 and I have a truck that will not run.. No big deal to him.

I had a master machanic look at it and fixed the truck in 1 hour. Mike the shop owner of J and M Auto had my truck for 2 months and said that he could not find the problem and walked away from the problem because he HAD my money.

The master mechanic Patrick that fixed my truck said it was the worse motor install he had ever saw in his 30 year career.

It was a sensor in the transmission that J and M Auto  broke when pulling the motor out and cracked it. Patrick you cannot drive a car and this happen.. it was broke due to pulling the motor out
My fan belt propeller was chipped (which he accused me of doing driving in the parking lot). He also cracked that when pulling the motor out.
He said he changed the spark plugs and tuned up...Master Mechanic Patrick said they never been changed. Original spark plugs still in used engine.
He did not replace a 6 gasket when He pulled the motor out.. so the head gasket is leaking (again I paid $2800.00 to have this truck running like new.)

Mike ripped me off for $2800.00. He does not care about your truck or car.. After He has your money.. There is no urgency to get it fixed or back to you He had my truck for 2 months and My job is out of town that I have to get to and from. I have never ever been so ripped off! He does not deserve to be in business and I am going to make sure he goes out of business by word of mouth.

He knew when I brought my truck in that money was tight...but he screwed me anyway.. BAD BUSINESS

i would like to set the record straight about this repair. the original motor had a bad cylinder and would not pass smog. the customer opted to change the motor using a junk yard engine as it was the cheapest way to go. the truck ran fine until she took it through a car wash. she then returned complaining of no power, i checked the truck for free, determined it was transmission related, it did take a few days to diagnose bcoz it didnt always do it. the customer expected the repair to be free, i couldnt do that bcoz the problem was not related to the engine, it was a sensor at the back of the transmission that got damaged from water. this sensor was 3 feet away from the engine, there was no was possible that the engine install caused this. i do all the work here myself, i stand behind all i do, i have a very good relationship with my customers bcoz i am honest and do good work but i will not be taken advantaged of. this customer also accused me of damaging the trucks radiator fan after she went through the car wash, once again, if this was the case she wouldnt have been able to drive the truck problem free as long as she did. i try to please my customers but sometimes you have to stand your ground, thanks for reading, mike
