Complaint Review: J D Byrider

I purchased a vehicle from JD Byrider in March of 2001. When I purchased the car the price of the auto seemed high, but in my situation I looked forward to re-establishing credit. This car became a nightmare, I have put thousands of dollars into the vehicle getting it to just run.

The credit portion of the business CNAC call me and harrass me even though my payments are current. A finance person named Travis has yelled and used terrible language to me. I have called the manager named Mark who seemed to want to help, he arranged to have the car towed down to their (mechanics) who miraculously found nothing wrong with the car.

They then tried to charge us a towing fee of $105 and yelled and used profane language at my daughter when she went to pick up the car. She got approximately 1/2 mile away and the car broke down again. They did not fix it. When the finance contract included a warranty for the vehicle which cost $800 I asked what it was for, and why I had to buy it. They said it would take care of major expenses in repairs and everyone had to buy it. At this time, my payments are current and I have a dead car sitting in the driveway.

I recently had back surgery and am currently disabled, even though my payments are current my husband was told that I needed to call the (home) office immediately and explain how I was going to pay for this car. I called back down there and again I was given nothing but grief and told that I would have to report to the (home) office on how I planned to pay for this car.

This experience has been the worst of my life and I would tell anyone considering using JD Byrider to run for their lives. This business should be reported to the Attorney General of the State of Indiana.
