I WENT IN LATE ON THE AFERNOON OF 08/27/2007. I WAS UNSURE ABOUT THE CAR I CHOOSE BEACUSE IT WAS SHAKING AND IT COST 16,000 DOLLARS FOR A 2002 GRANDAM. BUT IT CAME WITH A 2 YEAR WARRNTY. SO I THOUGHT THAT IF I GET THE CAR LATER THEY CAN FIX WHATEVER IT WAS CAUSING THE MOTOR TO SHAKE. I HAD THE MANAGER SIGN AN AGREEMENT TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED.

BEFORE SIGNING THE AGREEMENT IT WAS TOO LATE FOR ME TO GET INSURANCE, FULL COVERAGE WAS REQUIRED, BUT THEY LET ME LEAVE WITH PIP ON ANOTHER VEHICAL I HAD AND TOLD ME TO SWITCH IT OVER THE NEXT DAY AND BRNIG THE CAR BACK WITH PROOF OF INSURANCE SO THEY CAN FIX THE SHAKING IN THE DASH, IT WAS DAY TIME WHEN I TEST DROVE THE CAR AND WAS TOLD I ONLY HAD 5 MINUTES TO TEST DRIVE.

WHEN I PULLED OFF THAT NIGHT ABOUT 7:30PM I FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO TAIL LIGHTS BY A LAW INFORCEMENT OFFICER. I THEN HAD TO GO STRAIGHT HOME AND PARK THE VEHICAL AFTER PUTTING 400 DOLLARS DOWN FOR TRANSPORTATION.I THEN WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING TO RETUN THE VEHICAL FOR SERVICING AND GET INSUANCE WHEN I HEARD TICKING, I THEN TOUGHT THAT THIS WAS A SIGN FROM GOD THAT THIS WAS NOT THE CAR FOR ME, IT COST 16,000 FOR A 2002 THAT WAS TICKING, NO TAIL LIGHTS, SHAKING,AND NO INSUANCE . TOO MANY PROBLEMS FOR MY FIRST DAY WITH THE CAR.

I TOOK IT BACK AND THE MANAGER ARGUEED THAT ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS FIX THE PROBLEMS AS AGREED THE PRIOR NIGHT AND THAT IT WAS UNDER 2 YEAR WARRENTY, HE DROVE IT AND TOLD ME IT DROVE LIKE CRAP.AND THAT HE WAS SENDING IT THREW SERVICE, BUT AFTER GOING THREW SERVICE HE SAID IT WAS NO PROBLEM FOUND THREW DIAGNOSIS CHECK AND THAT THE MOTOR WAS HIGH PROFORMANCE THAT IS WHY THE CAR SHAKED.THEY FIXED THE TAIL LIGHTS AND I COULD COME PICK THE CAR UP.

I TOLD HIM IM NOT PAYING 16,000 DOLLARS FOR A CAR THATS TICKING AND SHAKING HE TOLD ME, HE WOULD TRY TO HELP ME GET MY DEPOSITE BACK AND DONT WORRIE, BUT DAYS PASSES AND THEY DIDNT DO ANYTHING.

LATER THAT WEEK I WAS GIVEN A CALL SAYING THE CAR WAS STOLEN OFF THE LOT, I THEN ASKED THE MANAGER WHAT DID THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ME AND WHEN WAS I GETTING MY DEPOSITE BACK. HE SAID THAT I WASNT GETTING MY DEPOSITE BACK UNTIL THEY GET THERE CAR BACK AND I WAS THE LAST PERSON WITH ACCESS TO THE KEYS SO I MUST HAVE GOTTEN SOMEBODY TO STEEL THEIR CAR.

I WAS ACCUSSED, ROBBED OF ME AND MY CHILDRENS INCOME,AND ALSO RIPPED OFF CAUSE IM A WOMAN WITH NOONE TO SHOW ME WHAT A RIPP OFF THEY WERE, THE TREATED ME TOTALLY OPPISITE OF WHAT THEY WERE TREATING ME LIKE WHEN THEY SOLD ME THE CAR. THE WERE WILLING TO BREAK THE RULES TO GET ME TO DRIVE OFF THE LOT UNINSURED BUT THEY WOULDNT DO IT TO GET ME OUT OF THERE 16,000 DOLLAR LEMON. PLEASE HELP

They were wrong to let you drive off the lot with only liability insurance. Only Full coverage can cover a car bought the night before when an insurance company is closed.Only getting an outside agency involved will perhaps convince them to a refund, but just for FYI there were about 6 documents that were signed that say no monies are refundable.

The DMV is your best bet, keep in mind that the warranty you have gives them the right to just keep putting the car in the shop. But demand to speak with Bill Todd at the dealership and demand a personal apology from the person that said you stole the car. Trust me that the DMV is hearing alot about them right now so I bet they will help.

Hello please contact the DMV Department of Motor Veichles 0f Florida and Fla Attorney General this JD Byrider can not blame you for a car stolen off there lot that store has cameras that record the hole property so they can see who stole the car. plus they have insurance on every car on the lot if your car was stolen and they had it in there care they are liable for it . They are blowing smoke thinking you will go away. By you contacting DMV Department of Motor Veicles they will have to explain to them why they are making the claim that you stole your own car plus they will have to open there books and DMV will see if anything eles looks funny. Another thing that 2002 Grandam that you payed $16000 for olny cost them $ 2000-$ 3000 dollars how do I know? I was a Buyer for Jd Byrider they mark these cars way up plus charge you 23-25% interest to get that total of $16000 and a Grandam is a lowin car meaning they are cheap one of the cheapest cars on the market .I would demand my money back tell them you do not want another car and look somewhere eles that is honest these guys are scam artist an theifs! Hope this helped out!

after being acussed of steeling their car. i called today to find out that the car was never stolen, it was parked in the back the whole time. i was acussed in front of coustomers as well as rudly talked to. he told me that i was the last one with the car and i must have gotten my boyfriend to make a copy and steel it and until they get their car back then i wont get my deposite.now that the car is back and has never left they are still refusing to give me my deposite.i called and tried to talk to the owners and they refused to talk to me.

when i called and said i was someone else they got on telephone and was very rude and hung up, no concerns or remorce for steeling my money or acussing me of stealing a car. i am a educator and single mom, they are not going to recive not one blessing and there company will suffer until it is closed down.that is the type of history the want with others there is no need for them to hold my deposite and i didnt even keep the car

Was the agreement to fix in writing?

You stated that they agreed to fix the vehicle and accepted your $400 deposit. Was this a written and signed agreement. You may actually have them right where you want them. Is this JD Byrider a resale lot rather than the original dealer of that make of vehicle?

Let me explain...I owned a Dodge Intrepid which came down with an unknown malady. My husband took said Intrepid to an auto shop in the city 50 miles away, where he worked. We paid several hundred dollars to this shop for them to repair the problem. They took payment from my husband IN ADVANCE, thereby agreeing that the problem would be fixed for this amount of money.

Husband calls me at home that afternoon and tells me friends wife has just picked up our car and phoned to tell him that the problem is NOT FIXED. I called auto shop and they tell me too bad. They won't do anything else unless I pay more money. They did what they said they were going to do. I call hubby back and I tell him to call her back and have her take the car to the dodge dealer and leave it there, take the keys in and give them to the service desk.

I then call the Dodge dealer and ask for the MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN THE BUILDING. I get the dealership OWNER. I explain that this dirtbag auto repair shop has hustled me out of durn near $500 to fix a problem they did not fix. They took payment in advance of services and I would like his help in getting the car repaired. I believe the auto shop is responsible for paying the tab. Owner asks location of car and I tell him it's on his lot and the service department has the keys. He agrees that I got ripped off and will help.

To make a long story short and not bore you with miniscule details...the dealer fixed the car. The problem was with a $30 part, not the $350 computer chip the other place told me it was. The dealer billed the auto repair shop for the cost of the repair to my car and made it VERY clear to them that they would be refunding me the difference between their bill and what I paid or they would not be purchasing any more parts from their dealership. You see...certain parts cannot be purchased from auto parts stores, only authorized dealers may sell them. As a final slap in the face...the dealer would not permit the auto shop to return the computer chip for a refund. AHHH...too bad, no returns on parts which have been installed. Yeehaw! Consumer wins. Car gets fixed, consumer gets refund check for over $300 AND dirtbag conartist is out $350.
