J.D. Byrider Total Ripoffs Shillington Pennsylvania
November 2007. Was going through a very bad time in my life. Needed a car to get to work. My credit was well below 400. Had no were to turn. No money down, no money in my pocket. saw an add for J.D. Byrider, thought, I'll take a look and see. Went there with high hopes of getting a really nice car. When I got to the place I saw about 50 cars on the lot. Some very nice looking ones I might add. I was meet by a saleswomen who I must say was very pretty. I needed a car in the worst way, so, it wasn't very hard to try to sell me one. I gave all my information and waited about 3 hours for an answer. When they finally got back to me it was to late to do anything. I had to come back the next day. ( had to find a ride home at 9 pm ) The next day I got there at 3 pm. Till I even got to look at a car it was 7 pm. Then I thought I was going to pick one I liked, guess what? I got to pick one out of four. The first one had dents all over it, the next shook really bad when you turned on the AC or the heater. Then the one I bought was next, didn't even look at the last, my saleswomen was shaking her head no behind her boss's back. So now here we are it's about 8 pm, I haven't eaten, and I still don't have a car! The head man, who ever he is, I think the owner, said to me, whitch car do you want?? I said the third one, a 2000 Saturn. We went inside and he said to me, how much can you put down? I said $200.00., and he walked away. Next thing I know a women comes in and said she was the finance manager. Told me I needed $1000.00 down. we argued back and forth a little then she went away. I was getting ready to leave when another person came running over to me and said, you don't understand about the down money, the bank will lend it to you at $133.33 a week till the $1000.00 is payed off! OK, what can I do, I need the car. I signed a book full of papers saying I won't sue them (now I know why) never being told what I am paying for the car, only how much every other week. I sign, get my keys and I'm on my way. I pay off the down money loan and start making my biweekly payments. About 3 weeks into the loan I made an early payment (a week before it was due) on the due date of my payment my car was repoed by them. After arguing with someone for 15 minutes that the payment was made early, they finally said they were wrong. Now I've had the car a year, all the idiot lights have come on and off the whole time I've had the car. One of there men said he fixed this problem one time when I went in for a check up. The car uses water and oil, and no one can figure out where it is going. In october I had a fender bender. I finally got the check to get it fixed. Like everyone else that buys a car there, I don't have alot of pocket cash. The check came in my name and there banks name. I called them to see how I should go about cashing it so I could get the car fixed. They told me to get it fixed then they would sign the check over to me. Well, I can't, like I told them I don't have that kind of money. They called my insurace company and told them I was comitting insurace fraud! WOW, what a nice place. I'm trying to get this check cashed to get the car fixed, and there calling my insurace company. Now I have to get the car inspected. Guess what? You guessed it, it won't pass. The computer is so messed up it won't reset it's self. Now It is going to cost my a fortune to get this thing fixed. The car blue books at about $1500.00-- I still owe $7600.00 on this car I've been paying on for a year. Needless to say I will pay $12,000.00 for a car worth about $1,500.00 if I can get it inspected, other wise it's a parts car. Please pass this on to everyone you know looking for a car, stay away from J.D. Byrider!!!!
