Another "slipper" rip-off! I sent a cheque for $30.70 on January 28, 2002, for two pairs of slippers and all attempts to contact these people have failed. I mailed my cheque to the Hawkesbury, Ontario address, but I understand they operate in at least two other jurisdictions - Quebec and New York state, which is why they are so difficult to nail.

They do have a website at www.jdmarvelproducts.com, and if I were a computer whiz.......! But I'm not, so I can't!

Before you give them sainthood, please check the bbb report about them. AND please check the FTC telemarketing rules regarding late/non delivery. It is NOT the question of "PR", they are requiered by LAW to inform coctumers if they cannot deliver and to give full refund.

Here is some detail about the "honest" company:
The address in Champlain, NY, is a mail drop and the company is actually located in Canada. During the 3 year reporting period, the Better Business Bureau serving upstate New York has received over 900 complaints alleging non-delivery or delay in delivery of the ordered product(s) and dissatisfaction with the company's service.

As of February, 1999, the Better Business Bureau in Buffalo, New York stopped processing complaints against this company. Since that time over 1100 complaints have been forwarded to the BBB in Canada.

Consumers wishing to file a complaint can send a letter to:

I emailed an opinion several weeks ago with the indication that this company was not responsible.
This has proven to not be the case as I have received the merchandise that I ordered and paid for. The slippers ordered and received are what they were advertised to be.

The opinion that I have now is that the company has an inordinate long period in its shipping, but probably is an honest firm. Why the delay in shipping occured I do not know, but think the company from a PR standpoint needs to contact people when the delay is longer than 5 or 6 weeks to inform the customer of the delay.

Would I do business with them again? Possibly, but would take in slow delivery as a possibilty.

Thank you.
