Complaint Review: J. D. Marvel

I ordered slippers from J.D. Marvel Procucts on October 15, 2002 through the Sunday newspaper by mail. I sent the order form with my check for the slippers plus shipping and handling which came to $16.95. On October 24, my check was cashed and cleared my bank.

Today is January 24, 2003, and I still haven't received my slippers. Since some items take from 4-6 weeks for delivery, I didn't start to suspect anything until December. I have called the number that was given many, many times, only to receive a busy signal. Christmas eve, a voice said that the company would be closed until January 6 for the holidays. I now have written a letter to the company demanding either my slippers or my money.

I found this web site because I was looking for Champlain, NY Chamber of Commerce or Better Business Bureau. When I did my search, low and behold there were numerous complaints about the same company.

The money is surely not that much, but it is just the principle of the thing. I do think that I should have some recourse against a company that operates in this manner
