A couple years ago I went to J.G Wentworth because I needed money to pay my bills and get myself a vehicle.  I had seen their commercials and read the reviews from the website. I had not come across any negative reviews.

With new hope found I called the number and spoke with a representative about selling my settlement. Being young and rather naive at the time I believed what they told me at the time. Which was that I would still get my remaining lump sums.

Now a few years after I began to wonder where that money was and when I would get my next payment. I only received $6,250 of the $45,000 I was awarded. I was told when I called that the remaining amount were to be taken as re-payment for the amount I was given from J.G. Wentworth. Basically the remaining amount was being taken from me.

With all the pain and suffering I went through I couldnt believe that it was all gone. "I had won the lottery and only got a percentage. the rest taken from the greedy tax hounds." as I've explained to many people before who didnt understand what I meant when I told them I was not to see the rest of my money.

Now I've been trying to get a better understanding of what happened and the more I learn about what happened to me the less I like it. And seeing that I'm not the only one this has happened to makes me feel a little better. I know how duped you all must feel.

I need help. I need to get my money back. I have a lot of years ahead of me still, and I know that I'm going to end up needing it. May it be for knee surgery or hip surgery. Either way I need to figure out how to get my money back.

Needed cash now and JG wentworth didn't deliver. Dis was screwed up the reviews and stuffs I have been reading seems to be a common case with a lot of ppls like me who were looking to cash in big and didn't receive the respect I deserved. I personally have called them numerous times and have never had good calls wit dem and so I went with http://moneysettlement.net and the guy on the other end of the line treated me with respect and helped me to get a lot of cash for my insurance check dat I wuz gettin each month.

Your money is gone. You need to move on because lingering on this will only make you depressed. There is no way to get your money back. You literally gave it to them, well, used it all to "pay" them for their "service."

Is it a rip-off? Absolutely, at least for most people. But like you mentioned, you needed the money right then and there so you made a decision. It turns out that it was a good short-term decision and a very poor long-term one.

That's where they get people. They offer to put $10 in your pocket today in exchange for the $50 you'll get from a settlement over the next five years. It's the worst deal in world if you don't need that $10 right now and can get by without it, but as you said, times were tough.

At the end of the day, you made a bad financial decision and unfortunately, there's simply no turning back. You can tell your story and people can feel bad for you, but that won't get your money back, so just do your best to move forward from this and take it as a lesson learned. A hard lesson, yes, but the worthwhile ones are always hard...

I understand everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however I believe you show little compassion for someone in my situation. You seem to support J.G. Wentworth in a way based on your statement.

However to give a little more of an in depth explanation of why I took the route I did I would like to tell you a little more about myself. Aside from being young and naive I had a lot more going on than that.

The way this money came to me is a long painful story for myself. But I know in some instances I need to put aside the pain and tell my story.

I was an 11 year old girl back in 1999 just beginning middle school and learning more about myself. Being young and slightly defiant  of my parents rules I went for a bike ride with some friends to a different section of the mobile home park we lived in.

We raced around for a while and rode our bikes to the gas station near the entrance of the park. We purchased soda's and I put some air in the tires on my bike. Another young girl challenged me to race down the hill the gas station stood on.

So being young and competitive and knowing I could win I accepted the challenge. We rode our bike's down the hill and when I saw I was coming up to the street I grabbed the brakes on the handle bars as hard as I could and stopped just at the edge of the street.

There was a row of bushes to my left and I poked my head out to see past them, I didnt see any cars coming so I started to pedal into the street to get to the sidewalk on the other side. I got half way across when a 4x4 pick-up came barreling down the street he wasn't far from me and I panicked.

I stopped right the frozen with fear I had seconds before he hit me. I blacked out as my body went up his front end hit the windshield and then off and over the side. People began to gather around, the man that hit me waited and called the police.

I awoke to emergency crews and officers asking my name and address. I told them what they needed to know. But with the shock and confusion all I could see were the trees above me. Finally my mother showed up and found her little girl bloodied and on the ground in pain.

They asked what hospital to take me to. I didnt hear what my mother said as I passed out from the shock. I awoke in the ambulance and again passed out. I finally arrived at the hospital in the ER and was taken into a room to assess my injuries.

The nurses and doctor's began pulling my arms and legs to set the bones in place. I was taken from the to the CT scan and to have x-ray's. I was rushed from the to surgery where I was to have a metal rod inserted into my left femur.

By this time I had been put under and was unaware of what was happening. I only have one memory of that time in the OR. I died on the table, for how long I dont know. I remember seeing an emerald light, which must have been the tree's I had looked at.

I recovered. I took some time, but I was walking again. I wasnt the same carefree girl I was. I began to feel depressed, I felt like a burden to my family. I stopped going outside to ride my bike. I had developed PTSD.

The reason I turned to J.G Wentworth was because I had medical bills from the depression and the PTSD that I couldnt afford to pay. I had lost my job and my car had been totaled in a head-on crash in a parking lot. Caused by a lady pulling into the lot as I waited to pull out.

So without a car or a job. And with the bill's mounting up, I did what any desperate person would do. I sold my annuity, I believed after reading the contract, after a lawyer read and told me the deal was good, that I would still see that money.

Now you tell me, how could a company that promises so much to their clients, give them so little in the end. J.G Wentworth knows you dont just get a settlement or annuity for nothing. Maybe it's different for everyone, but we all suffered in some way to get that money.

You won't get your money back, as you willingly signed the agreement. You can't have it both ways. Anyone taking these cash outs are selling their future, as you did. If you needed cash that badly, you probably could have cashed out yourself. Take it as a very hard lesson learned and maybe someone else reading this will think again before doing it. These people are NOT your friends.
