Jimmy Tompkins, J & J Custom Metal was contracted September 10, 2009, to pour concrete for front walkway, side walkway and driveway. Concrete was poured and never finished. Exposed re-bar and steel mesh are exposed on sides of driveway walls. Concrete driveway has severe deep cracks, light colored spots, strange discoloration and has dusting on surface. Concrete is breaking up in several spots. October 1, 2009, final payment was made, Mr. Tompkins walked off job and never completed. Mr. Tompkins never returned to finish job or clean up! Mr. Tompkins was paid $19,500. Numerous telephone calls to residence and personal cell phone were made. Messages were left and no calls returned. Geo Con Laboratories inspected concrete at our request due to all of the problems. Have full report from Geo Con. Concrete is inferior quality and poor workmanship of the placing and finishing. The concrete walkways and driveway within a year, will have to be re-done. The concrete is breaking up at sides and cracks. Mr. Tompkins states he is licensed and bonded. He is not! His business card stated licensed and bonded! We contacted the Mississippi State Board of Contractors, Mr. Tompkins is not licensed or bonded. We contacted a lawyer, filed a lawsuit. Mr. Tompkins never responded. A Default Judgment was rendered July 26, 2010. To date, September 1, 2010, there has been no communication from Mr. Tompkins.
