My name is Lara and I am a 21 year old single parent. I attend UT full time and I work full time. My parents gave me a car to use that is not in my name but I am insured on it. I am a very good reesponsible young adult who has never been pulled over, gotten a ticket, parked illegally nadda. On my way to pick up my daughter at 10pm after work one night my car literally just stopped working. I had it towed for free to my boyfriends apt complex where I was told my the managment of his apt complex that it would not be towed or tagged since I was in the process of selling it.

While at work on wed night I got a call from my roommate who had gone to pick up my daughter from my boyfriends apt saying that my car was gone. And was asking if I had sold it yet. NO!!!! I call J & J and sure enough they have it. But they wont tell me why it was towed or who called to have it towed. I was told by the manager there that I had to go down and talk to her in person in order to get anything out of my car or any information on it. I got off work that night at 11pm. To tired to go there at that time since its all the way out in BFE I had to wait till my bf could take me down there inorder to get his car which was towed the day before.

I just got home from their lot and they lady was less than plesant. She told me the owners themselves had to come down in person to find out any information on the car or to have it removed. My parents dont live here, they dont have the time to come down. I asked her to call them and she said no. I asked for a pen and paper she said no. I asked for the number she said no.

When I explained that there was never a tag on my car she said it was tagged 10 days ago. But again wont tell me why. When I asked how they keep track of what cars they need to tow she said and I quote "the driver tags the car, then gets in the truck and writes on a piece of notebook paper the licence plate only" -_-

My bfs car was towed by them a few months ago. We picked it up that day and the very next day they came and towed it again.....they obviously dont keep track of their records. And if its on notebook paper...that might explain why.

Long story short, my daughters clothes and medication are in that car along with some other valuable things that are very important that I get. I cant take my sick child to the doctor because my insurance information is in the car, from the last doctor visit.

I am extremely pissed and tired of being nice and patient. This is wrong. Ive made a report but have to wait for a detective to be assigned. in 28 days now they will crush my car if my parents do not come and get it out. With no other ideas Im stuck.

My parents sent me the title the monday before thanksgiving but it was returned. As of yesterday they sent it again. So it is signed and on its way. As far as my daughters medication i mean flu and cold medication. And yes actually my mother is a doctor and as long as it doesnt get to be over 100 degrees in the car...the medication will be fine. My car has been sitting in the shade and its barely even been 70 since its been sitting there. Also I dont think they can charge me storage fees if they said they would release my car with no charges. That would be simple theft

You better hurry because now you are paying storage fees.

How do you think you are going to sell the car if it isn't in your name and your parents don't live nearby to sign the title over?

Also you said "Long story short, my daughters clothes and medication are in that car along with some other valuable things that are very important that I get. I cant take my sick child to the doctor because my insurance information is in the car, from the last doctor visit."

It was in the parking lot for 10 days and all of a sudden your daughter needs her medication? Don't give it to her, who knows what the temperature extremes in the car did to it.

The apt complex just called me 10 min ago and said they never had my car towed. ANd they spoke with J & J Towing and they are releasing my car with no charges. However, they want me to come get it. Its kinda hard to get a car that doesnt work. I would have to still pay a towing fee.
