In reference to the Jack in the Box parking lot in Austin near the UT Campus:

First, none of the signs posted comply with Chapter 684.031 of Texas Transportation Code.
Secondly, the towing company installed the signs which is also illegal per the Transportation Code.

And last, one the curbcut entering the parking facility doesn't even have sign posted, another violation of the State Law, Chapter 684, Transportation Code.

In reference to the previous comment, towing companies fail to tow vehicle legally, most parking facilities vehicles are towed from fail to comply with Texas State Law.

Plus, our company, Texas Towing Compliance, through our legal team have already beat the Jack in the Box in Justice Court.

My car was recently broken in and my parking permit was stolen.

My mirror was bent and my door were unlocked.

J & J towed my car from my own apartment lot. They don't even bother checking the office to see whose car it was. My car which was registered under the office's leasing papers.

It cost me 262 dollars for me to get my car the next day.

Their service was terrible. The woman who works there was unpolite. She doesn't even know how to write up a receipt.

Towing $150
Impound fee per day $20 (1 day)
Storage fee per day $40 (2 days)

~ This was the first receipt i got. I told her how these numbers would equal 262. then she said she forgot to add in Notification fee. which was $50 dollars. I also asked her why the storage fee was charged for two days and Impound was charge for only one days. She explained storage fee that they add an extra day. Hmm okay???. I asked her what is this Notification fee. She told me by law, she was required to send out a certified letter telling me that my car was towed. I am not even sure if she sent out the letter, since day 1 has not even passed yet. I doubt they even sent the letter yet. They probably just charged it so they can mail it to me later.

Thanks J & J ...I knew my car was gone the same day it disappeared in front of my apartment. Why would I need a letter telling me my car was gone? It cost me $50 for them to sent a letter to me. The mail which hasn't even came yet.

I am very disappointed in my apartment manager who agreed to let J & J Towing take over this lot. They stalk the parking lots like vultures. My old apartment which was few miles away was a lot nicer. They put a sticker on your car warning you when it was going to get towed.

For something that wasn't my fault. $262 was a price that I had to pay. Whoever stole my parking lot tag is going to be a big idiot once I find them parking with my parking tag #.

I do agree J & J rips you off. The fees are overly high. Their service is poor and slow. Workers are not professional. They cannot even write me a proper receipt. I had to ask them many times to write one that I can understand. The car yard is in the middle of no where. The car is impounded in a dirty field surround with school yard metal fence. When I first drove by, I thought it was a dump yard.

Your son's vehicle like all the other towed from that Jack in the Box on Guadalupe was illegally towed.

None of the red and white towing signs posted comply state law and the towing company installed them for free.

I recommend that if you still have the reciept from J&J Towing, to call 512-974-5750 and file an offense report for an illegal tow.

And Yes, you are correct in your comments about J&J Towing, they pride themselves in ripping off the public.

Why didn't I think of that? Instead of wasting all that money for parking, I could just go in, buy a cup of coffee in the morning for 75 cents and leave my car there while I went to work every day. Stupid me. That bit about your son and his date was the tip off. By the way, how long were they gone after the stopped by for. 2 or 3 hours?

Your son parked at one business and went shopping at another. You don't see why his car was towed? The sign says parking is for diners only. A "diner" is someone who is DINING, not someone who gets a $1 worth of soda and heads to the mall. Junior left his ride at Jack in the Box because it was convenient for him. The wrecker driver made sure it wasn't. Next time you rant about how mean the business owner is, try putting yourself in his place. Would you like to have your lot filled with cars and no customers to show for it? I think not. If someone parks their car on my lot and doesn't want me to fix the vehicle, I have it towed immediately to an impound lot.

Needless to say, I don't have very many NON-customers parking here. The last one cost the guy over $700 or the title to his car. He thought I was horrible for having it hauled off. Too bad. He had no problem dropping it off and then ignoring it while pretending he wanted it fixed.

He really wanted a place to just park it. I wasted time looking at the car and diagnosing it and filling out the paperwork for it. Maybe next time, your son will think about someone other than himself when he's out in society. I doubt it though. I think we can all see who he got his standards of behavior from.
