PURCHASED A 2008 TOYOTA TUNDRA CREWMAX LIMITED($53,000). IN 2 YRS AND 41,000 MILES gps/CD/STEREO WENT BLANK! I went to J.Pauley toyota service department. the service manager was busy but the service techs and a service writer examined the GPS/Stereo and determined that it had went BLANK! EVEN THOUGH the truck is covered 5 years, the radio was only 36,000 miles and I was "OUT OF WARRANTY". A replacement radio was $4,200.00, my cost.  I contacted Toyota USA.  they assigned a "case number" advised i take to j. pauley for FREE warranty replacement.

Remember, toyota assigned a claim number and stated they would replace under a "preferred customer" program since I own or have owned 8 toyotas in past few years.  The J.Pauley service manager never returned my calls and was never available when I went there in person. after several attempts to no avail, finally the asst service mgr returned my call and said he would personally address the problem with the TOYOTA factory representative in this region. he stated the dealership had all my information as i had taken it into their shop for service on the GPS/stereo. After 2 weeks there was still NO response.

I called TOYOTA USA and they opened a case file, again. I contacted the asst service manager, again, and he stated the TOYOTA Rep had been on vacation for three weeks and was due back in one more week.  three weeks later, still no response.  I called the asst service mgr again, he stated the factory rep had just left for his honeymoon and would be back in 3 weeks.  4 weeks later I called again. NO return calls from J.Pauley, none from the J.Pauley Service manager, No return call from the J.Pauley asst serv mgr., and no calls from the Toyota factory or the TOYOTA Corporation.

MORAL OF THE STORY: if you want to get service on a vehicle 1) DO NOT buy TOYOTA; 2)DO NOT go to J.Pauley Toyota; 3) DO NOT pay for the vehicle, put on company financed plan so they can jack up interest but at least then you can quit making payments when you DO NOT GET SERVICE; 4) DO NOT expect service department at J.Pauley to be responsive; and 5), 6), 7) 8....... and so on... BUY AMERICAN  FORD or CHEVY.

Mine went out on my 2008 tundra also at 8 months and 10,000 miles. The dealer replaced it at no charge though I had to wait a month cause they were back ordered. The service rep told me they were back ordered cause they were replacing so many cause they were such POS.

the related articles on the web for more information, okay?

You can also contact ALL of your Local News Stations in your city and get in touch with their Investigative Reporters. Maybe someone will expose your story on T.V. and Toyota might realize that they should pay for the defective parts, right?
