On March 14, 2008 I applied online with this company called EZ Unsecured. They were to assist me with seeking financing for my business called Anthem Associates Unsecured Credit Lines. They Never submitted 1 application nor rendered any service. They just took my money. I am a sole proprietor in the State of California. I am a 60 years old that has worked hard for my money & in these rough economic times cannot afford to lose the $600.00 Application Fee to a company that neglected to return my phone calls & not render a service they said they would do. I had to call & call & call their company for weeks until finally a woman (I dont remember her name) that is employed there told me that the gentleman that was (lending specialist assigned to my file) named Bruce Maki no longer worked there & they were going to assign another person to my file. So they gave me a guy named Leo Cardoso. I waited & waited for this guy to call me & he never did. So I called once again to find out what was going on. The Customer Service Line sent me to his voice maid about 3 times over a period of 2 weeks & still no reply.

So at this time I had gotten so frustrated & busy with my business & other personal matters I just did not follow up any longer. Now 2 months later from when I originally applied for a unsecured line of credit, a lady named Pamela Diaz calls me up & starts to ask me questions regarding my file/application with EZ Unsecured. She asked if I had all the conditions met on my file for them to proceed. She asks who was my lending specialist..& so on. She did not even know who was helping me on my file & she work for this company as a manager or something like that. I told her that I was very disappointed & explained my position that no one was calling me back, I had to follow up so many times & it was like I was invisible to their company & no one knew anything about my file/application, but they cashed my charge card faster than I could fill in the numbers. She also said she was sorry & that her company was going through some changes & that Bruce Maki no longer worked for the company & assured me that all would go smooth from then on. Also she re-assigns my file once again to another (Credit Analyst) named Steve Hakala, not even a lending Specialist at this time.

I guess that was the next step to consult with a lending specialist when I thought all along I was already there. At this point I still dont know who my so called lending specialist is. So Steve sends me a e-mail (see attached) saying that after I talk to my lending specialist a lady named Jamie Weaver will gather all my conditions. So I had to follow up with her a week later to find out still what was going on. At this point I feel like I am working a full time job calling this company I paid to perform a duty & am getting nothing but the run around & I am at the end of month number 3 from when I first applied! Today is May 24, 2008 & I applied on March 14, 2008.

I am so tired, frustrated, upset, disappointed that I finally get a hold of Jamie Weaver (condition specialist) & tell her I want a refund for the monies I put up front. She tries to convince me otherwise, but I insist. I am DONE with the charades with everyone in their company & just want my money back. So she says she will send me to the Billing department for speak with someone. I was on hold for 15 minutes & then the phone disconnected & no one called me BACK! So I called them & said I wanted to talk with the Owner of the company so I can get refunded my $600.00 for non-performance. I believe they were unjustly enriched & are not entitled to any compensation at all because they never rendered any service other than making my life stressful & I did not sign up for that! A Billing Manager named Karla Thomson said she would talk to the CEO names Marcio & see what he would say.

So they e-mail me a letter saying they will give me what he called a success credit refund at the close of my loan. (his way of getting around paying me back my money). I do not want that. I do not want to move forward with a mess of a company, do unprofessional, so negligent & cunning on how they would refund me through a success credit refund at the close of my loan. I told them that I would file a complaint if I was not refunded & they I guess though this old man didnt have the time.

But here I am doing what I said I would do & I just hope they will comply with my simple refund request of $600.00. They can easily refund it back to my charge card but choose not to. They have that info. The bottom line is they did not render a service & are not entitled to compensation & I simply lost total trust with their company & I dont do business with those I can not trust. Thanks for your help regarding this important matter. I know the State of Nevada has no tolerance for these type of business practices & will expect a positive conclusion of some sort. This experience been nothing but difficult & disappointing to say the least. I do not trust this company & their underhanded tactics.

P.S. In their agreement is states that I can cancel the agreement at ANY time. I have done so & still have not got my money back.

If you have a complaint, you should also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, so others who are researching this company can go see it as well. This is a second report that I have read with this issue. This company is very deceptive in the fact that none of this information is disclosed on their website about a 'review fee.' The website only states:

What fees do you charge?

We charge a one-time Success Fee once you are approved and receive your funds, which we will explain to you in writing once your Application has been received. -



The statement on our website is correct. We do not charge any additional fees. The client pays a deposit for services which is fully credited to their Success Fee. This is only a "Deposit" not an additional expense.

If you have a complaint, you should also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, so others who are researching this company can go see it as well. This is a second report that I have read with this issue. This company is very deceptive in the fact that none of this information is disclosed on their website about a "review fee." The website only states:

What fees do you charge?

We charge a one-time Success Fee once you are approved and receive your funds, which we will explain to you in writing once your Application has been received.

After reading these two articles, I know not to use this company and would be a waste of my time and would lose my money to a "review fee." Every loan company does not take money upfront and only charges after a service has been rendered. There is something wrong if they charge you in the beginning. Furthermore, in this kind of lending environment and credit crunch, there are no lenders left who will lend you $250,000 going stated income. I have searched high and low and not found a bank. If conventional banks are not lending, who will? If it is too good to be true, it must be.

I am the Client Satisfaction Manager with EZUnsecured.com, and have spoken to
and tried to come to an agreement with Robert. Soon after Robert's file came in for processing at EZUnsecured.com, we had to terminate some staff members. Most of the staff members that Robert mentioned in his post were terminated. I explained this issue to Robert when I spoke to him, and expressed my apologies for the inconvenience. I offered to give him a credit for the Review Fee that he had paid upon his first funding. He was unwilling to negotiate or cooperate with me, and only demanded a refund of his Review Fee.

The Review Fee is a fee that clients pay to have us analyze their credit situation, and guide them and coach them through repairing any derogatory marks on their credit. We clear up anything that could possibly cause denials from the Lenders. Once we have them in a strong position to be submitted to the Lenders, we make submissions on their behalf and coach them through that process also. We are a consulting company, and offer our services for a fee. In Robert's case, the process had taken longer than it was supposed to due to a temporary staffing issue. The management staff agreed that his file was delayed, and accepted responsibility for that, but still wanted to continue working his file and get him the funding he was looking for. We were willing to credit him back his Review Fee upon funding. The contract that Robert signed does state that the client has the right to cancel at anytime, however, it also states very clearly that the Review Fee is non-refundable.

I also spoke to Robert again after we found out that he posted this report. In an effort to protect the integrity of our company, I offered to go ahead and refund the Review Fee to him, and in return, he agreed to remove this posting. The $600 non-refundable Review Fee was not worth having our company name falsely slandered across the internet. I did exactly as I said I would do, and immediately issued the refund of the entire $600 on Friday 6/6/08. Today is 6/12/08, and Robert still has not kept his end of the agreement.

In the end, we tried to render the service that Robert paid for, but he did not want to cooperate with us after the delay. We wanted to render the service that he paid for, but he chose to cancel. The Review Fee is non-refundable, but we refunded it anyway. We have done our best to work with this client, and yet he has still not removed this posting as he said he would. EZUnsecured.com is an honest company. We are in the business of helping people get money to start and expand businesses. We have many satisfied clients. Unfortunately, Robert did not end up to be one of them, and we are sorry for that, but we did everything we could to try to accommodate him.
