I sent my son to Jack in the Box for 2 sandwiches, he walked there, as it is within walking distance. He was on the phone with me and I heard him order specifically what I wanted. The cashier repeated what he ordered.

When he got home the breakfast crescent had sausage instead of what I ordered, ham. Now I had to get out and drive over there, as he is 15 and my health prevents me from walking that distance, to return it.

I spoke with the person in charge, Erika Perales, which was only a shift leader and no manager was available, which seems to be a reoccuring problem at this Jack in the Box.

I told her that I expected to be compensated, as now I had to get out myself and waste my gas due to their incompitence. She told me she would not compensate me and if I didn't like it I could go to a different Jack in the Box.
I asked for corporate number, she gave it to me but refused to give me the store number, claiming she didn't know it.

Why is the only person in charge not aware of their own store number?

I was at this very Jack in the Box not even a month earlier when they refused to service me because they were short one person and if they cooked my order they would have to cook everyone in the drive-thru order. It was after 11pm, there was NOONE behind me. I was told to return in 30-45 minutes, by that time another person would be there.

There was no manager at the time(which is understandable due to the hour) so I called the next day and could only speak to a Shift Leader as, once again, there was no manager on staff and they couldn't tell me when one would be in.

There seems to be no management at this Jack in the Box and the Leaders and employees look to be in their late teens and have no good customer service skills.

Jack in the Box should make sure they have responsible, knowledgeable, and respectful people in charge and available.

Hi, I'm Shean, I work for JIB, north Texas. I read your story and being a worker with the company, my first thought is shame. Sorry your experience was bad. But then I think a little harder about it and feel less guilt. First of all, I love how fast food is one of the many companies in America that people think is just so easy to run and that they hold vast knowledge over every "idiot" that works there.(someone always knows how it "should" be done, but would never do the work--again-) A Shift leaders, as you put it, or a Team Leader is management at Jack in the Box. So if you kept pressing to see someone else, right before they closed, you already trying to draw blood from a stone. what other companies do you demand that from? are the top managers at Wal-Mart or Walgreens always at work? "how come a manager is not in a pizza delivery car?" thats what it seems like you suggest. Another thing. you either had a breakfast jack or supreme croissant, not whatever a "breakfast crescent" is.Though it puzzles me on how this could upset you so much but you get the sandwhich name wrong.(but Erika Perales is spelled right?smh) not even knowing what sandwhich you had kills your whole "they got the order wrong" argument. i think you were just upset because someone told you no, stop hating on Jack.

you stated that they refused to service you and that there was no one behind you. there is a rule i guess that if there is someone in the drivethrough, you have to service them and only when the drive through is clear can you shut down the store or refuse service. at that time of night, there is usually only 2 people on shift and that other person probably called out or was running late. i feel that you are very unfair to suggest that 1 person take your order, send your order, drop fryers, drop meat, drop buns to be toasted, make sandwiches, make drinks, take your money, give you change, give you your drink, sauces etc, bag up your order and tell you thank you with a fake smile on their face. if the person would have taken your order, that could have lead to more and more orders, usually when 1 comes, 3-5 more come. maybe you could stay home and cook the food yourself, you can get the food at a store, it's called a grocery store and nowadays, they seem to be popping up everywhere. hope that helps.

I am also a Shift leader at Jack in the box, and The managers do not tell us store numbers, or anything. we have to figure it out for ourselves, which sux. Ive been at jack for 3 months and i still dont know the phone number. it's stored in my cell, but if someone asked me the number, i would have to check.
I sincerely apologize on behalf of my fellow jack employee.
Also, late nights, at jack, the managers assume we can handle the large volume of customers with only 2 employees. we are expected to cook, fry, run drivethru and front counter. Jack is trying to improve the internal service, but it's a long drawn out process. Even though most team leaders have to know how to work the grill, most do not. I barely figured out how to make the eggs without breaking them. She could have given you a refund, and she was wrong for not giving it to you. I apologize on her behalf.
I really hope we continue to get your business, even though this girl treated you poorly. hopefully she has been replaced, or there is someone about to replace her. we look forward to seeing you again at Jack in the Box! Please do not let this one foolish employee run you off. Jack has pretty great employees in general, but the few bad ones make us all look bad.

Thank you for your continued service,

Angela
