Complaint Review: Jack Mermis

This is a 75 year old con guy who appears to be a salt of the Earth family man. He brags about how wealthy he is - he owns a helicopter fleet, ten bulldozers, yachts, etc. He ingratiates himself with wealthy people who think he is also wealthy. Then he steals from them (usually a boat or a vehicle or something to do with airplanes). Or, he gains their trust as a "friend" and gets them into some sort of partnership and then betrays them by taking their assets. He also sells services to people (example: flight instruction, renting a truck) and takes the money in advance and never delivers the goods.

The fact is:  he is currently in his THIRD bankruptcy in Seattle (Bankruptcy No. 12-19123-MLB). Someone is suing him for fraud. Hopefully, others will too.

He is artful at lying. He makes up "legitimate" disputes and has a lot of experience in the court system - even representing himself at times.

If he has duped his wife into thinking he is golden, I wonder what she would think if she saw his bankruptcy schedules which show he has been separated since 2006! She is the widow of one of his former victims who suddenly died in a car accident.
