Our dryer went on the blink, quit working.  Repair person came out that afternoon.  He used a continuity tester on the circuits and cleaned the timer.  Then it suddenly started working again!

Repair guy said he never heard/saw of anything like this before. (Really....)

I was told the service call of $49 was good for 30 days.  In the mean time, I was to write notes as to what happens to the dryer on different cycles and call back at the end of the week.

I called back and started to explain the details as to what was happening.  The manager, Gary, interrupted me, was very terse and rude, and told me to go to Sears, get it fixed and he would refund my $49.

Yeah, right.  I'm gonna call Sears, the most expensive repair people in the business and hope that Jackson Appliance gives me a refund.

First of all, why would you send someone to a competitor?  Secondly, how can I be assured that they would really give me a refund since this would be nothing more than "telephone hearsay"? (a defense often used by companies....)

I kind of gave them the benefit of the doubt until I read another review at a YP website and that person gave the exact same story!  The customer was also told that Jackson Appliance never saw anything like this before and basically got rude, terse and gave them a hard time.

No thanks.  I will run it until it dies, do like before and get a new dryer....with extended warranty.  Those have been worth their weight in gold for our family.  However, I don't understand why I didn't get one for this dryer. (Since it's only a year-and-a-half old Admiral....)

Careful with Jackson Appliance!  With other customers online giving similar stories, this might just be a "service fee" collection business with an occasional easy repair.

Can't fix a perfectly working appliance

I am sorry for the problem this customer had, but as stated in the review; when my guy left, the dryer was working perfectly.

When the customer called back, they couldn't tell me anything wrong. Since, we'd already been there; and the it was working when we left, couldn't understand what the customer was talking about.

Customer became angry on the phone and accused me of stealing, even though when we arrived, it wasn't working, and when we left the house, it WAS.

I can tell when people are getting overbearing so that is why I suggest they call a competitor and IF they fixed the problem, to simply bring the bill into me and I would REFUND the $49 service fee.

The customer never did this. But instead posted this review.

We strive to fix every repair and never unnecessisarily charge. I've been in business for over 25 years at this location and we have a good reputation.

Please never hesitate to call us and we will even help you over the phone for free when possible. We are a home town ma and pa shop and strive to do great business with the people living in all of Jackson County

Thanks for reading

Greg
