Myself and my wife had our Income report prepared by Jackson- Hewitt. We paid over half of what our return is and that we took , but a little surprised. The rip-off is that we where told that on the I - Power card our return would be available in 24 hrs. We now have learned that it will be 2 weeks. we feel we where mis-formed and led to believe it would be 24 hrs.... just a real bad experience all the way around.........bad business practices.

You may have been told that you would receive the money in 24 hours because you had applied for a Refund Anticipation Loan. Normally, those funds are available in 1-3 business days. Your preparer should have told you that if for some reason you are denied for a RAL, it would roll back down to an assisted refund and you wouldn't be charged the extra fees. Assisted refunds come back in 8-15 days. So it goes like this:

You applied for a Refund Anticipation Loan that is expected to be back within 1-3 days.
You're denied for the RAL by the bank
The return is then processed as an assisted refund which comes back in 8-15 days
