JAG ELECTRIC incorrect, inflated, erroneous billing for electric services performed at my private residence on 10/15/04. Rip-off! COMMACK New York
On oct 15, 2004, jag electric performed the following services for me:
Install one (1) 3-bulb hanging light in my portico(purchased separately for $150.00). approx 2 hrs.
Repair one (1) socket in high hat (approx 15 min)
Repair one (1) ballast in bathroom flourescent (approx 1/2 hr)
Before starting, I asked specifically for a quote. I was
told by "Tony" that it would have to be done on an hourly basis, two hours at 90.00 per hour.
After three (3) hours, the work was completed, and tony made out the billing.
The billing was for 697.00!! It included three hours
labor at 150.00 per hour( which is 60.00 more per hour than quoted), 96.00 in material, 56.00 in sales tax (0n a capital improvement!!??), and an "appearance" fee of 95.00, that Tony says they always charge.
When I complained, Tony said the boss, Fred, had told him to bill these amounts. Tony was very apologetic. I called "Fred", and he adamantly defended his prices, and demanded full payment. So I paid the bill. Tony was, once again, very apologetic. I can supply copies of the invoice, calculations, and a log of events, by approx. time of day, by fax, if needed.
I also complained to REPUBLIC LIGHTING, 6233 JERICHO TPKE,
COMMACK,NY 11725 - TEL: 631-499-1854, for recommending this electrician, but they said that they take no responsibility for their recommendations!!

This is response to a report written by a Mr.James of smithtown Ny 11787
Mr James called and wanted some work done asked for a price on a bunch of stuff to do.I told him that what he wanted was a service call which we charge 95hr and 90 hr for one man(no kids proffesional electrician with 20 years of experince).He said fine but needed done right away.I told him it was a lot of little stuff to do and iwould give him adeal and send 2 MEN at 150hr(30 dollar saving,he left out that there were 2 men).
When we got there he wanted a light hung in front potico which he said there was a wire inside the soffit SOMEWHERE that he made his siding guy run(illegal for siding contractor to do elctrical work without licencse) no wire was found so we had to snake a new wire for that(he left this part out too).We had to take switch box out of wall install bigger one and new switches and wire(neede 2 men to snake wire ,luckily we had 2 men or he would have been more time.)
Mr guillott also doesnt know the tax laws on capital improvement,which does Not Include REPAIRS AS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS.

I have been in bussines a long time and have no complaints,you can even check with your local consummer affais department.I also have a copy of the origanal invoice from that job signed by Mr. guillet of knowledge of satifactory of work.
I also am sending this report to my lawyer t sue mr guillett on writting this bunch of lies and trying to ruin my bussiness.
