I paid for my wife's account at runescape, it was paid with my VISA card, which tells me immediately if the payment went through. They took the money, but did not update her account. So, since it was only $5, I figured we'll try to see what happens with the mastercard. Same thing, took the money, this time instead of telling us there was a problem with some badly coded scripting, they stated after the first time, the site said thank you, which was nice for them to be polite this time ripping us off, (yeah, her account is still not updated.)

At least I wasn't stupid enough to use my personal credit card, but prepaid cards instead. I will be filing a complaint with the police in the UK if the matter does not resolve soon.
