On March 23, 2013 my account with Runescape was permanently banned with no warning and no opportunity to defend myself before this drastic action was taken.  My account is accused of macroing goldfarming.  I had to look up these terms.  I am being accused of using third party software.  I do not own, have access to, or even know how to use third party software.  These accusations have no basis in any fact.  On this particularly day, I was playing the game for an extended period of time.  However, I was legitmately playing.  My own finger was behind each click and text.

My membership with Runescape began in October 2011.  I have always been a month to month subscriber, until February 16, 2013.  On that day, I purchased a six month membership.  A little more than a month into this new membership my account was locked and permanently banned.  I personally know another player who had been a member for five years, but when he bought a one year membership, he soon found himself permanently banned and falsely accused as well.  I read an account on Ripoff Report of a woman who purchased a one year membership for her eleven year old son, only to have the account banned six days later.

Runescape provides an appeal process through the message center.  Customers are allowed to write an appeal in 600 words or less.  The appeal remains forever pending.  No further contacts are allowed.  In another area of their website, if customers click on the following:  tech support, account help, 2.  I can't Get Into My Account, C.  Unable to Get Into Game, iv My Account Is Banned,  in very small print at the bottom of the side message that comes up, it says "At the moment, we are not reviewing these bans"  The appeals are never even read.  They are absolutely meaningless.

When Jagex accuses members of macroing and then bans them, they reserve the right to keep the money that members have paid, even though service is no longer being provided.  Jagex does not have the right to decide real world penalties for perceived offences, especially when these so called offenses are not supported with any evidence and especially when the accused are not given any access to a real defense in which a change of outcome is possible.

Banned accounts with prepaid memberships need to be refunded for the unused portion of their membership.  Otherwise, the game designers at jagex are little more than petty thieves.
