I purchased mu 2002 Jaguar S Type in January 2002. Since that time it has been in the shop 18 times for repairs including 4 transmissions. The company refused to termiante the lease.

you didnt buy a jaguar s-type your payed way too much for a ford taurus lincoln ls.
the s-type has an unbeleivable amount of problems and you will continue to have them
i spent many years working on jaguar vehicles and when the s-type came out was instructed that fords satisfaction was paramount in warranty repairs we could not take care of problems we found during inspections if it was under warranty and the customer knew nothing about them.
your transmission failures were i suspect due to a plugged oil cooler which jaguar put out a technical service bulletin over and the diagnosis was to let customer purchase vehicle and if it comes back needing an engine or transmission then replace it.
have you cooler flow checked.
