Complaint Review: Jake Cloney

Ladies, I have seen other reports on this guy. BEWARE!!! I'm certain that the person in the photos that I have been provided is not the actual person with whom I was communicating. I was contacted by this guy on PoF.com.

He gave me his phone number right away and after I contacted him, took his profile down. He asked that I do the same. He sent me lots of beautiful words, swooning me, but I was very skeptical because I never met the man and had heard about internet dating scams.

At one point, I copied the words he sent me and pasted them into a google search. Sure enough, he was sending me things from online love qoutes websites. He sent me photos and videos. The videos he sent were of "him and his daughter, Hanna" singing a song "Let's go crack some eggs" and "Dance for Mommy" in crab costumes. Because I saw videos, I started to believe this guy was real.

I asked him to video chat and did an online public records search for his name. Nothing turned up, but a facebook page, which had just a few friends, none of whom lived in my area. He claimed to be from a neighboring city and to be working in Istanbul, Turkey for the next three weeks. He was a construction engineer, building a seven story hotel there.

After he said that he didn't have a webcam to video chat, I called him out and sent him the link to a government website on online dating scams. His scam was word-for-word the scam that was being pulled on others. I told him that I had followed the links on the website and reported him to the FTC and FBI.

He then sent me texts, threatening my life and that of my kids. This guy is scary, dangerous and needs to be stopped.

He sent me texts from two numbers, which I have found through online research that he's used on others: 703-829-6034 and 828-278-8210. He wanted to chat on yahoo messenger and sent me emails from jaysmiles36@yahoo.com.

I have read in other posts on other websites that this guy will tell the same story and share the same videos. Eventually, he says that his nanny is killed and he is robbed of tens of thousands of dollars. He then asks that the girl he is talking to send him money to get home.

It's all a scam! Don't fall for it ladies. Let's keep reporting all of his identities, so eventually he gets caught. (Or she because, like I said, I'm sure the person behind this is not the guy in the photos and videos.)
